Characters I Defend | Top 5 Wednesday #17

Hello reader/s! I hope you are all good and well! Today’s post, as you can see by the title, is about Characters I Defend. We’re meant to talk about the characters that we love and will defend in this post, but I think I’m just going to talk about characters that I’ll defend. There are characters that I love and will defend, but there are also characters that I’ll just defend because well, they’re good characters and they need to have someone defend them.

Let me just say that the word “defend” doesn’t really seem like a real word to me anymore…

I absolutely love Hazel. She does what she believes is right, even if whatever she ends up doing isn’t exactly the “right” thing to do by her societies standards.

We haven’t yet had the last book(s) in this series, but I do stand up for Ryhs (Reece) whenever I can because he is truly a sinnamon roll.

OK, I’ve read this a few years ago, and bought Far From You just last year, and frankly… I’m seriously pissed that no one stuck up for Sophie in this book. Like, seriously. No one stuck up for her. No one believe Sophie — even when she was so desperately telling the truth.

  • Tris from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth

Now, a lot of people that I’ve come across don’t like Tris all that much. This is especially true in the last book Allegiant. They didn’t like how the last book ended, and frankly, neither do I, but I can really appreciate it as well.

  • Mia from the If I Stay duology by Gayle Forman

I feel like a lot of people don’t agree with what happened. I for one, know exactly why Mia did what she did. I realized a long time ago why she did what she did, and I commend her for it. She needed time to heal, time to grieve in her own way. She couldn’t do that with Adam around. I know that he’d just hold her too close and Mia needed time to breathe.

What are some character who you would defend?
