Hello, and welcome back to Adele Is Reading. Today I have my book review of:
Wolf Forgotten, by Maya Nicole.
Wolf Forgotten is the first book in the Arbor Falls series.
Trigger / Content Warnings: Blood, Gun Violence, Gun shots, Shot by a gun, Abandonment (baby), Sex.
From GoodReads [x]:
“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE
Wolf Forgotten‘s plot progresses really quickly, and can be easily read just as fast. So, my kind of book!!!
For the most part, Wolf Forgotten was super enjoyable. There are too many parts of the book that I liked to include in this review. To be honest though, it’s been too long for me to recount what happened in Wolf Forgotten, so, *shrugs shoulders* yay?
Within Wolf Forgotten there are multiple points of views. To be frank with you, I enjoyed all of them. All of them. Especially Eli. I love how he’s a character that knows of, and has read, reverse harem novels. Like wowee, YES PLEASE.
Also just as a side note, but I LOVED how modern the world within the novel is. I’m all for books that are urban fantasy where characters have read books that I’ve read and wow, the surrealism makes me giddy and I JUST WANT MORE REVERSE HAREM FAN FRIENDS.
Another side note I have is that I was kinda pissed at myself for not checking on whether or not this series had finished (while I originally noted my review, the series wasn’t completed). While I’m super glad that the series hasn’t finished yet (yay the characters are still living [at least in my mind]), I needed the second book ASAP!
It’s not often wherein I’m super freaking excited, not-even-caring-where-the-author-could-lead-the-story happy, to read the next books.
The little cliffhanger at the end of the novel completely took me by surprise as well. And, well, it’s sad to know that in THIS books’ storyline, Mates, or even Fated Mates are that of stories, and not actually believed in. — I love “mates” and “fated mates” stories.
Something else that I adored about Wolf Forgotten is how standoff-ish Ivy is. She’s so freaking badass in a way that shows how often people underestimate/undermine her.
Overall, I gave Wolf Forgotten, 3 stars.
