Hello friends! Today I’m reviewing
Wicked Gods, by Michelle Hercules.
Wicked Gods is the first book in the Gifted Academy series.
Trigger Warnings: Sexual Abuse, Bullying, Attempted Murder.
Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.
Since the beginning of times, there has always been two sides: Norms and Idols.
But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.
I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers.
And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.
To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.
They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.
*Wicked Gods is a steamy, paranormal academy RH bully romance.
From GoodReads [x]:
“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.
There are quite a few points of view that we read from. Which means that the story was never boring…maybe a little over-crowded.
Fast read, a bully-romance WHICH PISSES ME OFF. I AM DONE. If a boy / man / anyone HAS TO BULLY SOMEONE to tell their crush that they like them I’m gonna fucking blow a fuse. I am d o n e. This trope shouldn’t even had been a thing to begin with.
Honestly, a lot of Wicked Gods was complete bullshit. I hate that the guys tormented her even though they obviously had feelings for her. AND LIKE, THEY KNEW THAT THEY WERE ALL ATTRACTED TO DAISY. The FUCK? I honestly, truly, dislike bully romance(s). NO MORE.
I give Wicked Gods, 2 stars.
