2019 Reading Goals…

Hello and welcome to the second day of the year! Depending on where you’re currently located in the world, this could be your third day. Which is weird and cool all at the same time.

As the title of this blog post indicates, this post is about my 2019 Reading Goals.

The goals I have in mind for 2019 are to basically not set a reading goal on GoodReads. Re-read books and review them if I haven’t already. I also want to catch up on almost all of my ARCs that I am currently in possession of. And I want to give away the physical books where I ended up not enjoying the story.

One thing that I always get wrapped up in is the flurry of GoodReads and how we can personally set a reading goal. For the last few years, I’ve set goals. Examples: In 2012 I set a goal of reading 200 books, and ended up reading 242. In 2014 I set a goal of reading 50 books and read 118. In 2015 I read 125 books, in ’16 I read 144 books, and in 2017 I read 145 books.

In 2018 I had set a goal of reading 10 books and the raised that goal to 25 books. Last year I’ve managed to read right around 155 books.

So for 2019, if I do end up setting a reading goal, it’s going to be around 10 books or one. I really don’t want to set a reading goal. I mean it is fun to set up a goal to work towards, but I don’t like that I get caught up in the commotion of having to reach said goal. This year I just want to have fun reading and see where my reading takes me.

I also plan on re-reading at least 12 books this year. As well as try and read more of the books I already own.

The books that I want to try and re-read this year will definitely change depending on my mood and what I’m into reading at that exact moment. So I’ve been slowly making my way through books and books series that I’ve read but haven’t reviewed. It’s been fun! I’m bringing that over into 2019.

I already have a few titles that I want to re-read picked out and are currently sitting on my shelves waiting. Titles like:

  • Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1) by Robin LaFevers
  • We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
  • Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick
  • Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy, #1) by Anna Banks
  • Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody
  • The Astrologer’s Daughter by Rebecca Lim
  • Not a Drop to Drink (#1)by Mindy McGinnis
  • We Awaken by Calista Lynn
  • The Winner’s Curse (The Winner’s Trilogy, #1) by Marie Rutkoski
  • Feral by Holly Schindler

Curse my last phone for updating and not saving anything!! Argh. !

I also have quite a few ARCs that I have to catch up on. So 2019 may be filled with ARC reviews that should have happened in the last few years.

Of the books that I personally own; if I end up not liking that book, I want to give it away to a used bookstore. And thus clear up my shelves for more books to come in!

In turn, my 2019 Reading Goals are:

  • To set a low, or to not even set a GoodReads reading goal.
  • Re-read at least 12 books.
  • Re-read books and book series that I haven’t yet reviewed.
  • Read more of the ARCs I have.
  • Giving away the books I end up not liking.

Do you have any reading goals for 2019?
If so, what are they?

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Reading, and see you soon!
