Creeping Beautiful by JA Huss

pink leaf divider

I just want to give a quick shout out to Xpresso Tours & JA Huss for allowing me to promote this book. I’ve been looking forward to reading Creeping Beautiful ever since I first found out about it a week ago on the Xpresso Tours site.

I found Creeping Beautiful via the Xpresso Book Tours site, and once I read what Creeping Beautiful was about, I was hooked. I cannot stop thinking about this book.

Creeping Beautiful is a Reverse Harem novel, so if you’re not into polyamorous stories, then Creeping Beautiful may not be for you.

I wasn’t the one who broke her but I played my part.
She came to us when she was ten. I raised her. I loved her.
I taught her how to survive in a world of evil men.
But it wasn’t enough.

ADAM
I wasn’t the one who saved her but I did my best.
She needed me as much as I needed her.
Bought and paid for on the auction block.
But not for the reasons you think.
She was my weapon.

DONOVAN
I wasn’t the one who lied to her but I hid her truth.
She was broken before I got there.
Wild and angry. Defiant and bratty.
But she trusted me most.
She loved me best.
So I set her free.

Indie Anna Accorsi is a woman lost in her past.
A pretty little nightmare.
A gorgeous piece of misery.
A mess of lovely darkness.
She is creeping beautiful.
And now we want her back.

State of the ARC #13

State-of-the-ARC

STATE OF THE ARC MEME

State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.

Hey friends! Today I have a State of the ARC meme post.

It’s been a while since I’ve last done an ARC update. I’m both nervous and kind of excited, I know that I started reading a couple of ARCs a couple of months ago, but since then I’ve honestly had no will to continue and finish them. Continue reading

I’m a Mood Reader?! | What it means for me…

Hello friends! As the title says, I’m a mood reader. Today’s post is about how being a mood reader affects my reading.

Mood Reader, at its base point, means that said mood reader tends to only read what they’re in the mood for.

Example:

  • Sad, down ‘n’ out: I might want to read a book where the story has a serious problem within. The story could be a happy one where the main character has something serious affecting them in that time of their story.
  • Feeling good: I tend to read a fluffy story. This story could either be more akin to a contemporary story.
  • If at the time I start reading, I’m angry, stressed, anxious, I need a book that is fast paced, filled with action and fighting scenes.

Sometimes I even end up marking multiple books as “currently reading,” because while the story may be interesting….it’s not what I’m looking for in that exact moment. And I know that I want to finish reading the book “soon.”

Though “soon” is a relative word. It could take me weeks, or usually, even months to finish reading said story.

How I prefer to read books, is to sit down and read the story from cover to cover. Which actually helps me curb be a mood reader… If I start reading a book and put it down, it’s actually incredibly difficult for me to pick it back up. If and when I don’t pick a book back up, it can sit on my TBR shelf for years and years before I decide that enough’s enough and I mark the book as Did Not Finish.

With all of this said, I don’t think I’ll ever stop being a mood reader. It’s just who I am.

Are you a mood reader? What’s your experience being a mood reader?

First Line Fridays #12

Hello friends! Today I have another First Line Fridays post.

first-lines-fridays

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? If you want to make your own post, feel free to use or edit the banner above, and follow the rules below:

  1. Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  2. Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  3. Finally… reveal the book!

If you’re using Twitter, don’t forget to use #FirstLinesFridays!

Most Anticipated Books of June 2019

Hello friends. How are you? Has May been treating you well so far?

Today I have my Most Anticipated Books of June 2019. Which is exciting, but this also means that next month is the 6th month of the year. Which also means that 2019 is already halfway done. Yikes. Time really does move faster the older you get.

Enough about me having a time crisis though. Here are the books that I’m most looking forward to.

Are there any books that you’re particularly looking forward to?

Library Reads #43

library readsHello friends! Today I’m talking a little about the books I’ve borrowed recently from the library.

Library Reads: I’m a huge fan of libraries. I tend to visit the library quite often, and I even come across great finds. These Library Reads posts are where I write a tad about the books I’ve borrowed.

In this post I’ll write about what books I borrowed, and what I think of the books before I actually start reading them. Whether what I say is a sentence or a few sentences long, here I catalogue the books I’ve borrowed. — From doing these posts I hope to spread a little love for libraries and the stories they can give us.

Have you borrowed any books lately?

Here are the books I borrowed from the library in March!

My Favourite Reads of 2018

FRo2018Hello friends! As the title says, today’s post is all about my Favourite Reads of 2018.

The beginning of 2018 turned out to be a great start of the year for me. I read quite a few books and they still make me feel things after the fact.

I know there are other people who like (or follow the trend) to narrow down their favourite reads to a certain number. For example, back in 2010-2015 people would have posts like “My top 10 books of 2010!” and the number would go higher every year. I’m not judging you if you did this yourself. If you did end up doing this, then kudos to you and I hope you had fun creating those posts. For me personally though, I don’t like narrowing down my favourite reads to a certain number. — I 100% prefer to just…let my favourite reads be my favourite reads without having to narrow them down.

With that been said, I’ve listed my 11 favourite reads out of the 156 novels I read last year.

Without a further ado, here are my favourite reads of 2018!

The Wild Hunt (Faerie Sworn, #1, and trilogy) by Ron C. Nieto22427190

Let me just say that I loved everything about this series. I genuinely enjoyed reading about the whirlwind that our main character, Lily, rode on. What I also liked about this series was that the male fae that accompanied Lily is…who he is. Haha, that was me avoiding any spoilers. (my review)
