May Wrap Up | 2017

How was everyone’s May? May is actually one of the busiest months for me. I mean, there’s mothers day, my brother’s wedding anniversary, my dad’s birthday, my parents wedding anniversary, and then my sisters birthday. All in that order, too.

I officially marked A Monster Calls (by Patrick Ness) as a Did Not Finish (DNF). I’ve just lost all interest in the book. Which is slightly upsetting, but I can’t help that I’ve lost interest.

unnamed-26The books I had on my TBR this month were: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver; since I really want to read the book and eventually watch the movie with my mom. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard; I really need to finish re-reading this so I can put the book out of my mind! Cryer’s Cross by Lisa McMann; I’ve had the book for a while, and every time I look at my shelf my eyes go to Cryer’s Cross. Evermore by Alyson Noël; I’ve been wanting to re-read Evermore for a few years now, so why not!

I’m leaving May, and entering June reading Before I Fall, as well as Evermore. Let’s see what I read this May! Continue reading →

Starr Lost, by Kim Briggs | Book Review #205

On the run from the Organization, Starr and Christian find safety on the Qualla Boundary with their friends, Ben and Coda, but Starr needs answers. She owes her dear dead friends, Sami and Jody, that much. She forms a team of her own to fight the general and his recruits.

Di, a mutual friend and anti-everything is a no-brainer, plus her Taser will come in handy. Frank, Starr’s BFF, will put his life on the line for her. Ben and Coda, not to be outdone by Starr’s friends, also swear their allegiance. Christian’s the only hold out. He knows what the Organization is capable of. He has the beaten body to prove it, but when Starr wants something, she gets it.

Now that the team’s together, everything should be perfect. Trouble is Starr loves Christian but so does Di. And Frank, well, he’s never been very good at hiding his love for Starr. Will his four-year long crush on her threaten the safety of the team?

Life becomes tense on the Qualla Boundary, sparks fly, and the Organization is about to smash in their door.’

Starr Lost is the second book in the Starr Fall series by Kim Briggs. The series is a Young Adult Thriller. I really enjoyed the first book, Starr Fall, so when I was asked by the author to read and review Starr Lost I hopped onto the chance and said yes! Continue reading →

February Wrap Up

Hello friends! Here’s my February Wrap-Up.

It has snowed off and on all of February; which is short of a miracle, I believe. I don’t think it’s snowed in February here in my part of Canada since 2007, maybe? Even the news has said that it’s rare for Vancouver to get this much snow in our Winter season. I think we’ve gotten around 68cm(?) of snow. Usually this happens only every ten years. Anyway, lets get on to reviewing what I’ve done and read this past month, shall we?

unnamed-29My February TBR consisted of four books: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition, illustrated by Jim Kay, Hereafter by Tara Hudson, Inhuman by Kat Falls, and Mistwood by Leah Cypress. Starr Fall, by Kim Briggs | Book Review #172

First off, a huge thank you to Kim Briggs, the author of Starr Fall, for allowing me to read this story in exchange for an honest review.

The start to Starr Fall is incredibly charming. Right when I started reading, I felt like I was transported into the book itself. That I could just turn and talk to one of the characters.
