The Cursed Trilogy, by Betty Legend, Sandy Ebel | Book Series Review

Hello hello! It’s been a while. I’m glad to be somewhat back.

Today on Adele Is Reading, I’ve got my book review of:

The Cursed Trilogy, by Betty Legend, and Sandy Ebel.

Unbound is the first book,
Unleashed is the second book,
Unveiled is the third and final book.

Trigger Warnings: Drugging, Kidnapping, Sex, Murder mention, Attempted Murder, mentions of Rape (no actual rape happens, and we don’t see anything —- there’s just a threat of it), Murder (in self-defence).

Now the above triggers are definitely for the first book, Unbound. I didn’t write down any triggers for the other two novels, so please read the books at your own discretion / find if there are any other possible triggers in the other books.

I had no idea how beautiful and terrifying my life was about to become.

Living as an independent artist in New York, I was soon faced with the new knowledge of my powers, a curse, and how bonding with five sexy-as-sin supernaturals would break that curse.

One by one they found me—Fae, Warlock, Demon, Wolf shifter, Vampire.
I’m their mate.
Their equal.
Their perfect match.
The one to unbind them from their curse.
Heart, body, and soul, I’m meant to be theirs. Theirs to share. Theirs to love.

From the beginning, they warn me of my fate. The stronger our magic bonds; the greater the chance evil will find us.
These incredible beings will give their lives to protect me, no matter the sacrifice, but I’m not willing to lose any of them.
They’ve stolen my heart and I’ll do whatever it takes to break the curse and stop the one who’s coming for us.

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

I read the series back in May 2021, and I read it in one sitting. I know this because in the reading journal I kept, I have my indepth review of Unbound on one page, and then a collective review of Unleashed and Unveiled on the second page.

Let’s dive into my thoughts on the Cursed trilogy.

The rest of this book review contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Demons want Selene dead so they can have their way with the world. And in the world that Selene is in, it’s the Supernaturals that keep/kept demons at bay. Demons tricked some “Holy Acalades” into believing that all the “bad” supernaturals need to die, and that the supernaturals are the sole reason for everything bad happening in the world.

In this first book there are three points of view, and I’m not too sure about the later two novels in the series. — If they contain more than these 3 points of view. I always love when the reverse harem sub-genre is in play and each character has their own view on things. Hehehe.

From our female point of view, Selene, she was the last piece of the puzzle that had been falling into place.

Griffin, one of our male view points, was literally almost too pure. Like, almost a cinnamon roll — is a cinnamon roll, but WILL kill you if he needs to.

Emeric, our second male view point, is more of a jackass than not. And I actually believe that he’s more kinky than what was written. Like, the general vibe I got from him was that he’s Kinky as fuck, and the author was actually downplaying it.

Something that I really appreciated in Unbound was that the view points — Selene, Griffin, and Emeric, are all so wildly different from one another. Keeping track of everyone wasn’t hard at all, which was great.

BOOKS 2 & 3; Unleashed, and Unveiled

I like that the authors gave the ‘crew their happy ever afters. I also liked that the names of the kids start with the same letter as their birth fathers’ name. Doing so was another easy way to differentiate and keep track of the kids.

Read books 2 and 3 back to back so the story was super muddled and an all-in-one book for me.

All in all I gave each of these books 3 of 5 stars.

Have you read the Cursed trilogy?

I honestly think that I’m going to try to read this series again. I kind of want to know what happens, haha.

Thank you for stopping by.

Seen you soon, and happy reading.
