TBR Tuesday #19

Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later. 

Both of these books that I’m talking about today, are written by authors that I’ve read from before. Both of these books fall into the Fantasy genre; which I love. The difference between these two books though, is that the first book I’m talking about is the first in a trilogy, while the second book is a book in the last of it’s series.

Another difference between these two books is that one of the books deals with Faeries, and the other deals with Space.

The first book I’m talking about today is Lament by Maggie Stiefvater. Continue reading

#ReadWomen

Hello, all! So you may have heard by now (especially if you’re in the booklr community over on tumblr) that there is a new reading challenge happening during the month of December!

The challenge is called #readwomen and how it works is that you only read books written by women for a month. I’ve seen some people extend theirs to see how long they can go without reading a book written by a male author. Which I personally enjoy seeing because I seem to have been only reading female written books for the last while now.

The whole challenge isn’t to degrade men, or tear down their work. The point of this whole challenge is to support female authors and I, for one, am all about supporting females in all aspects of life.

The books I’m going to try to read are 9 books I own, and a few library books that I’ve been meaning to read.. I need to get the library pile down!!!
