January 2018 Wrap Up & Book Haul

Hello lovelies! This is my final post for the first month of the new year! The older I get, the faster time seems to fly by and I have no idea how to handle that… As you can see by the title, today’s post is my January 2018 Wrap Up & Book Haul! Like last month, I seem to have gotten quite a few books. February is going to be one heck of a reading month, if I can find the time to read.

I didn’t have a set TBR this month. I wanted to keep things open and be able to Continue reading

The Wood, by Chelsea Bobulski | Book Review #306

IMG_4913After her father goes missing in the woods that they protect, Winter tries to seek the truth in what happened, why the wood is changing, and what it all has to do with the arrival of a mysterious stranger in this thrilling YA debut.

When Winter’s dad goes missing during his nightly patrol of the wood, it falls to her to patrol the time portals and protect the travelers who slip through them. Winter can’t help but think there’s more to her dad’s disappearance than she’s being told.

She soon finds a young man traveling in the wood named Henry who knows more than he should. He believes if they can work together to find his missing parents, they could discover the truth about Winter’s dad.

The wood is poisoned, changing into something sinister—torturing travelers lost in it. Winter must put her trust in Henry in order to find the truth and those they’ve lost.

Bobulski’s eerie debut is filled with friendship, family, and the responsibilities we choose and those we do not.

If you’ve read this book, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
Enjoy!

Let me just start off by saying that I have been waiting to read The Wood for the better part of 7-ish months. I was so happy when my library bought this book to be part of their collection! Continue reading

December 2017 Wrap Up & Book Haul

Hello, and Happy New Year! I hope your celebrations went well, and that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.

Onto the December 2018 Wrap-Up! — I didn’t have a TBR for this month, because I knew that with Chirstmas this last month, things and life in general would be incredibly hectic. Yet I managed to read 10 books! Considering it was the busy hustle-and-bustle of the Holidays and Celebrations were to be had, I did pretty well with my readings!

I bought a LOT of books in December. I only received one, which I’m not at all complaining about. I’ve read the book, and I honestly, genuinely enjoyed it. I know I’m going to re-read it this 2018 (hopefully).

Library Reads #33

libraryrreadsLibrary Reads: I’m a Library Lover, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from either one library, of a few libraries. I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

These are the books that I’ve borrowed from the last two weeks of November, to the first two weeks of December.

ucbrpicHello! Today’s post is about the books that are going to be published next month, in August. I’ve been finding that I’m getting more and more into Mystery/Thriller novels. If you have any Mystery/Thriller novels that you think I would like, I’m all ears!

Here are a few book’s that I’m looking forward to this August. I know I more than likely won’t get around to reading them when they’re out on the floor for purchase, but I can look at them from afar until I read them. Here are those books!

August 1st Continue reading
