6547188Rachel Morgan has fought and hunted vampires, werewolves, banshees, demons, and other supernatural dangers as both witch and bounty hunter—and lived to tell the tale. But she’s never faced off against her own kind . . . until now.

Denounced and shunned for dealing with demons and black magic, her best hope is life imprisonment—at worst, a forced lobotomy and genetic slavery. Only her enemies are strong enough to help her win her freedom, but trust comes hard when it hinges on the unscrupulous tycoon Trent Kalamack, the demon Algaliarept, and an ex-boyfriend turned thief.

It takes a witch to catch a witch, but survival bears a heavy price.

3475268._SY475_New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison returns to the sinister and seductive Hollows for the newest blockcuster adventure featuring Rachel Morgan, witch and bounty hunter.

White Witch, Black Curse

Some wounds take time to heal…and some scars never fade.

Rachel Morgan, kick-ass witch and bounty hunter, has taken her fair share of hits, and has broken lines she swore she would never cross. But when her lover was murdered, it left a deeper wound than Rachel ever imagined, and now she won’t rest until his death is solved…and avenged. Whatever the cost.

Yet the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and when a new predator moves to the apex of the Inderland food chain, Rachel’s past comes back to haunt her.

Literally.

My review for White Witch, Black Curse is short, and that’s because I binge-read like 4 books back to back. So this is what I’ve got written down for WW,BC.

I AM SO GLAD THAT WE FINALLY GET TO KNOW WHO KILLED Kisten. Finally! My questions have been answered!!

However, nearing the end of the novel Rachel remembered something from her childhood, and just….the way that the scene played out all innocently makes me think that in the next book this person will appear in the series and not in a good way. Long story short; the scene gave me a huge sense of dread.

All in all, I give White Witch, Black Curse, 4 stars.

Have you read The Hollows series?

I admit that when I read the first book, I wasn’t at all interested in the rest of the series. Though one of you lovely people suggested that I give the rest of The Hollow series a try, and well, now we’re here! Haha.

Thank you for stopping by!

See you soon, and Happy Reading!

1225621._SY475_When you dance with demons, you lay your soul on the line…

In the Hollows, where the natural and the supernatural co-exist – not always peacefully – desperate times often call for unorthodox measures. But bounty hunter-witch Rachel Morgan did the absolutely unthinkable to save the lives of her friends: she willingly trafficked in forbidden demon magic. And now her sins have come home to haunt her.

As Rachel hunts for the truth behind a terrifying murder, the discovery of a shocking family secret is about to throw her entire life into question. And the long-lost ancient knowledge she seeks resides in the demonic ever-after. But there are some lines that should never be crossed–like the one Rachel Morgan’s stepping over…again!

What a whirlwind this story was! There was actually quite a bit that happens in this 6th (!!) instalment in The Hollows series. What I like about Harrison’s writing, is that no matter how much time I take from reading between this book series is that when I start reading another Hollows book, I always feel welcome. I start reading a Rachel Morgan story and I’m instantly transported into her life! Continue reading

For a Few Demons More, by Kim Harrison | Book Review **EDITED**

Hello hello, friends! Today’s post is going to be my book review of

For a Few Demons More, by Kim Harrison.

For a Few Demons More is the 5th book in The Hollows series.

pink leaf divider

30259Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has stayed ahead of trouble until now. A serial killer stalks the Hollows, claims victims across society, and ignites a vicious Inderland gang war. Rachel hides an ancient artifact that could stop the killer or start a battle to the death among supernatural races of Cincinnati. Every action has its price. When the vampire master Piscary is set free and the demonic Algaliarept dares to walk openly under the sun, even Rachel Morgan can’t hide forever.

So, For a Few Demons more, the story ended up being a white-knuckle read. I literally could not have stopped reading this 5th book if I had wanted to. From the start of For a Few Demons more the story was go-go-go. There wasn’t really ever a break, and if there were, the break that Rachel got was maybe an hour or so.

The most happened within For a Few Demons more, and I’m kinda mad that I didn’t write down any notes. But I know that there was quite the roller coaster–no, not even a roller coaster of emotions. It was more like an emotional hurricane.

Just know that I really enjoyed reading For a Few Demons more, and that I can still feel the residual anger and grief that I had towards the end of this 5th Hollows book.

I give For a Few Demons More, 4.5 stars.

2365896The evil night things that prowl Cincinnati despise witch and bounty hunter Rachel Morgan. Her new reputation for the dark arts is turning human and undead heads alike with the intent to possess, bed, and kill her — not necessarily in that order.

Now a mortal lover who abandoned Rachel has returned, haunted by his secret past. And there are those who covet what Nick possesses — savage beasts willing to destroy the Hollows and everyone in it if necessary.

Forced to keep a low profile or eternally suffer the wrath of a vengeful demon, Rachel must nevertheless act quickly. For the pack is gathering for the first time in millennia to ravage and to rule. And suddenly more than Rachel’s soul is at stake.

When I say that there was so much that happened in this 4th book, I meant it, 1000000%. There was so much happening, I couldn’t even think straight. Continue reading

Library Reads #45

library readsHELLO FRIENDS! TODAY I’M TALKING A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOOKS I’VE BORROWED RECENTLY FROM THE LIBRARY.

In this post I’ll write about what books I borrowed, and what I think of the books before I actually start reading them. Whether what I say is a sentence or a few sentences long, here I catalogue the books I’ve borrowed. — From doing these posts I hope to spread a little love for libraries and the stories they can give us.

HERE ARE THE BOOKS I BORROWED FROM THE LIBRARY RECENTLY!

The Good, The Bad, and The Undead is the second book in the Hollows series.

30262Trigger / Content Warning: Rape Mention, Emotional Abuse Mention, Mental Manipulation Mention

Rachel Morgan, sexy witch, independent bounty hunter, prowls the downtown Cincinnati for criminal creatures of the night. She can handle leather-clad vamps and a cunning demon or two. But a serial killer who feeds on the experts in the most dangerous kind of black magic is an ancient, implacable evil that threatens her very soul.

I didn’t expect to love, like, or even enjoy The Good, The Bad, and The Undead. Before sitting down to read more of Rachel’s story, I thought that I would end up strongly disliking this book. I even put off reading The Good, The Bad, and The Undead for six weeks (6 weeks!!!) just so I would not get my hopes up.. Continue reading
