The Rainbow Book Tag

Hello mi amigos! Today’s post is going to be the Rainbow Book Tag. I came across this book tag from Kelly | Another Book in the Wall. I haven’t done a book tag in a long time, so I’m actually pretty excited to do tag. Let’s get down to things!

The Rules:

• Thank the lovely person that tagged you!
• It must be the dominant color of the cover, not the spine!
• It has to be a book you own or the exact copy that you read. (Ex: There are two copies of The Hate U Give, choose the cover of the copy you read)
• If you do not own a book of the certain cover, choose one that has the color somewhere on it.
• Tag some people do it! Whether they are bloggers, bookstagrammers, or booktubers. Spread the love!
• Make it a game or do the tag as originally intended.

Favourite Character Names | Top 5 Wednesday #19

This week’s Top 5 Wednesday post is about the Top 5 Favourite Character Names.

Names hold a lot of meaning, especially in stories. Authors can name a character, and when you look up that character’s name, a lot of pieces will fall into place. Now for me, I personally really don’t care about character names. I mean, it’s a name. However, that doesn’t stop me from having favourite character names.

December Wrap Up & #ReadWomen Final Update

Hello! If you didn’t know, for the month of December there was a reading challenge over on tumblr. The sole purpose of this challenge was to only read books written by women, in support of women. I’m actually writing this as a December Wrap Up to save time and energy.

The books I read this past month have all written by women! I usually read books what are written by females anyway, but still. – These are the books that I’ve read for the Read Women challenge (all books are listed in the order that I read them):

End of Days by Susan Ee | Book Review #52

‘After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. End of Days is the end to a trilogy written by Susan Ee. I love this trilogy. And I’m sorry to see that there won’t be more of this series. But if there were, I’d buy whatever it was up so quickly, you wouldn’t even know that it was there in the first place.

There’s literally so much that happened in this book. There’s also so much that I can’t talk about due to spoilers. I’ll try my best to not spoil anything!

World After by Susan Ee | Book Review #50

‘When a group of people capture Penryn’s sister Paige, thinking she’s a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.

Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the hearts of the angels’ secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.

Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can’t rejoin the angels, can’t take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings of helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?’

World After is a lot of things. For instance, World After is thrilling. There are parts in this sequel that made me cringe, had me in awe, had me laughing. There are so many emotions following this novel.

The Bookish Alphabet | Tag

After scouring wordpress for the pass few days looking for bookish tags to do, I came across The Bookish Alphabet tag! I’ve originally saw it off of KinmSiang’s WordPress account, and I decided to do this tag since I’ve been wanting to diversify my blog a little. Do more stuff on this blog aside from book reviews all the time. So without further do: The Bookish Alphabet tag!

The Rules for this tag are:
Pick a book that is on your shelf or one that you have read in the past and fill out each letter of the Alphabet. The idea is to use books that you have either read or that are on your TBR list.

#ReadWomen

Hello, all! So you may have heard by now (especially if you’re in the booklr community over on tumblr) that there is a new reading challenge happening during the month of December!

The challenge is called #readwomen and how it works is that you only read books written by women for a month. I’ve seen some people extend theirs to see how long they can go without reading a book written by a male author. Which I personally enjoy seeing because I seem to have been only reading female written books for the last while now.

The whole challenge isn’t to degrade men, or tear down their work. The point of this whole challenge is to support female authors and I, for one, am all about supporting females in all aspects of life.

The books I’m going to try to read are 9 books I own, and a few library books that I’ve been meaning to read.. I need to get the library pile down!!!
