Library Reads: I’m a Library Lover, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from either one library, of a few libraries. I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

These are the books that I’ve borrowed from the last two weeks of November, to the first two weeks of December.

September 2017 Publishings

Today’s post is about the books I’m looking forward to reading that are going to be published in September.

I seriously can’t believe how fast time has flown this year. I know I say that in every monthly post, but seriously. It feels like April was only yesterday. We’re already nearing September. September, people!

So here are the books that I’m looking forward to reading, which are going to be published  in this fast approaching September!

Sweet and Cute Books Recommendations

Someone recently asked me over on my tumblr, if there were any sweet and cute books that I could recommend them.

I know everyone has their own definition of sweet and cute. Even I have my own definitions of sweet and cute. There’s short and sweet/cute, which are books that I could read within a two-to-three hour time frame. There’s just a regular ol’ short, cute and sweet books that may make you smile so hard your cheeks hurt. There are books that I’ve read that are longer, maybe more in-depth than the ‘norm,’ and there are books I’ve read that can be emotionally crippling, yet when I’ve finished the book, I found it to be incredibly sweet and/or cute.

Like I said: there are many types of short and cute books, and everyone does have their own tastes in books. Here are the books that I’m recommending!:

6 Popular YA Books that Disappointed Me

As readers, I would say that generally, a lot of the books we read have been recommended to us. I’d like to believe that’s incredibly common. So what happens when we’re recommended books and we end up not liking them? Well, I actually have no clue.

I get most of my recommendations from Goodreads. So when I poorly rate a book, I both get recommendations for that same kind of book, and also receive different recommendations.

Being on the internet, and on booklr (the book community on tumblr), I’ve come across quite a few book recommendations. And a few of them have disappointed me. As much as I enjoy being a part of booklr, both recommending books when asked, and reblogging peoples recommendations both for my liking and maybe yours(?) I am generally skeptical of these recommendations. The downside to these book communities is that when a book gets hyped up, it [the book(s)] get really hyped up. And that could be a bad thing, because these high expectations can lead to huge disappointments. Here are a few “popular” YA books that have disappointed me.

Rainy Day Reads | Top 5 Wednesday #10

This weeks topic for Top 5 Wednesday is about Rainy Day Reads! I’m taking this as books that would be perfect to read on a rainy day. I have no idea about you, but when I read during the day, the atmosphere around me has to match the feel I’m getting from the book I might potentially read. I like to immerse myself in the books I read. Maybe that’s why I often find myself reading at night or in the early mornings when no one would bother me..

So when it’s raining, I like to read a book that will have a warm atmosphere around it. The same goes for generally cold days, or in the winter. Books that would take place in Summer would be perfect! If you want to read a darker book though, say, something creepy, a rainy day would be another great time to read whatever came to your mind! Here are the books that I would recommend:

2016 Rereading Challenge

After a lot of thought in the past few months, I’ve come to realize my need to reread books I’ve already read and own. I didn’t know how many books I wanted to read. Should I reread 2 books a month? One book a month?

Whilst scrolling and thinking about my little dilemma, I came a cross Mary’s (@books-and-cookies​, on tumblr) 2016 Re-reading challenge where you would read at least 1 book a month that you’ve already read; hence the “Re-read” part. And that’s actually a perfect amount for me. The books below aren’t in any order that I’m going to read them. I just organized the books by size, biggest being on the bottom.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

‘Mara Dyer believes life can’t get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

I didn’t think I would like this book as much as I did. I’m pretty sure that I got this book on a whim, and that I was hooked on this book by the first…chapter?? I can’t remember. All I know is that I loved this book the first time around, and that I’m really looking forward to reading this book again. This book is also part of a trilogy!! –Trigger warning! There’s an attempted Rape Scene in the beginnings of the book.
