Hello friends! How was your July?

My July was….good, at the beginning of the month. The rest of July seemed to drag on, and on and on. Yet now that I’m thinking back on this past month, time flew by. I got quite a bit of reading done, which I’m happy about. I also posted a few things as well. I’m trying to post more than just book reviews, so if you have any post recommendations throw ’em at me.

I hope July treated you and yours well.

Enjoy!

Winter Goddess, by Skye MacKinnon | Book Review

Hello friends! Today I have my review of Winter Goddess, by Skye MacKinnon.

Winter Goddess is the fourth (and final *sob*) book in the Daughter of Winter series.

Trigger / Content Warning: Assassination, Grief, Murder

40023234Just because Wyn has changed doesn’t mean that the war is over. Not at all.

Angus and the Morrigan are ready for battle, but so are Wyn and her allies. It’s time to fight for the Winter Realm and the balance that keeps the magic alive.

***This is the fourth and final book in the Daughter of Winter series. 18+***

From GoodReads [x]:

“Reverse harem” is, literally, the opposite of “harem”, with a group of males centering round a singular female, usually with three or more males. Quite often found under the romance genre.

There were so many different things that I was looking forward to reading within Winter Goddess. So I’m quite overjoyed by the happenings within this final book. Of course there are some things that I was upset by, and rightfully so, since my concerns are for Wyn and her guys. Continue reading

Into the Mists, by Skye MacKinnon, Laura Greenwood | Book Review

Hello friends! Today I have my review of Into the Mists, by Skye MacKinnon, and Laura Greenwood.

Into the Mists is the second novel in the Seven Wardens series.

Trigger / Content Warnings: Sex, Kidnapping, Attempted Murder

37558993A kelpie, an incubus and two wraiths walk into a bar…

Things were going so well until Macey got kidnapped. Again. Except this time, the kidnapper knows exactly why he has her, and none of his plans are good news.

She could wait for her men to save her, but then again, she’s not the kind of Princess who needs a Prince to save the day.

A reverse harem (still) drenched in Scottish mythology. Book 2 in the Seven Wardens series.

Winter Queen, by Skye MacKinnon | Book Review

Hello friends, today I have my review of Winter Queen, by Skye MacKinnon

Winter Queen is the third book in the Daughter of Winter series.

Trigger / Content Warnings: Rape Mention, Abuse Mention

38461543“They say grief passes. They say the pain gets less.
Well, I don’t want it to go. I don’t want it to stop hurting.
The pain helps me function and get through the day. And it helps me focus on one thing: revenge.”

The Morrigan needs to die, no question about that. But first, Wyn and her Guardians need to find her.

While the Realm prepares for war, allies arrive from unexpected places. But there are enemies hiding in plain sight that could stop the war before it’s even begun.

Can Wyn destroy the Morrigan without sacrificing the lives of her loved ones?

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

Winter Queen just might be the fastest book in this series yet. Winter Queen is probably the fastest book in terms of plot building. MacKinnon has put so much into each of the Daughter of Winter books. I’m slightly awestruck in just how much story is told in each Daughter of Winter instalment.  Continue reading

From the Deeps, by Laura Greenwood, Skye MacKinnon | Book Review

Hello friends! Today I have my review of From the Deeps by Laura Greenwood, and Skye MacKinnon.

From the Deeps is the first book in the Seven Wardens series.

Trigger / Content Warning: Sex, Kidnapping.

36502765Who knows what ascends from the Deeps…

Macey is really quite ordinary, if you ignore that she’s a kelpie princess living on land. Still, her life is boring until she gets kidnapped by a man who doesn’t quite know why he kidnapped her. Try and figure that one out.

Thankfully, he and his two companions are prepared to help her find out why she can’t return to Earth from their house in the Mists. Now the only problem is that Macey keeps getting distracted by the three mysterious and very sexy men…

A reverse harem romance drenched in Scottish mythology.

Going into reading From the Deeps, I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this novel—-other than knowing that the Seven Wardens series is a Reverse Harem set of novels.

I went into reading From the Deeps pretty open minded. Which led me to like and genuinely enjoy this first Seven Wardens novel. Much like other Skye MacKinnon books I’ve read, we learn a fair amount of this worlds history. We also learn about some Scottish mythology, which is always a plus in my books (pun unintended, haha)! Winter Heiress, by Skye MacKinnon | Book Review

Hello friends! Today I have my review of Winter Heiress, by Skye Mackinnon.

Winter Heiress is the second book in the Daughter of Winter series.

Trigger Warning: Murder, Sex Scenes, Abuse, Abuse Mention

Conceptual image of young brunette beauty and violet butterflies“Please stand for the Daughter of Winter, the Slayer of Demons, the Heir to the Throne, her Royal Highness, the Lady Wynter.”

Wyn thought everything would be unicorns and rainbows once she reached her mother’s palace.

The last things she expected were assassination attempts, the Summer King readying for war and, worst of all, frilly dresses.

But all of that is pushed to the side when one of her Guardians needs her help. They’re hers. And she’ll protect them while keeping her vow to protect the Realm. No matter the cost.

Let me tell you what a whirlwind Winter Heiress really was. Continue reading

May 2019 Wrap-Up & Book Haul

IMG_8624

Hello friends! Welcome to my May 2019 Wrap-Up!

I hope May has treated you well; and if not I’m sorry May was a bad month for you..

My May was very entertaining reading wise. Aside from reading though, May is also one of the busiest months of the year for my family. We have Mother’s Day, my dads birthday, my parents wedding anniversary, and finally, my sister’s birthday on the 31st.

Despite the busy month, I actually managed to read a ton of books. *whispers* I also managed to buy more ebooks than I thought I did. WHOOPS!

Enjoy! Continue reading

36118527One sassy demi-goddess. Four hot Guardians. And a few evil people.

As a demi-goddess, Wyn has always stood out from the human crowd. And now, on her 22nd birthday, her magic finally surfaces with a bang. A Big bang. She’ll need the help of not one, but four (sexy) guardians to control her destructive powers. If only they weren’t so distracting…

Her mother, the Winter Queen, waits for Wyn in the Realms of Gods, but there are enemies who will try and prevent her from ever reaching the Realms, even if that means going to war.

Will Wyn be able to survive the journey? And if she does, can she resist falling for her Guardians?

A full-length reverse harem novel containing all five episodes of the bestselling Winter Princess serial. 18+

From GoodReads [x]:

Truth be told, I didn’t really know what to think about Winter Princess prior to actually sitting down and reading it.

What I did know about Winter Princess before reading was that this story is a Reverse Harem novel. And that, truthfully, is one of the big reasons why I read Winter Princess. Continue reading

April 2019 Wrap Up + Book Haul

Hello friends! Welcome to my April Wrap-Up & Book Haul!IMG_8624

This April I did not have a set TBR and for that, I am so grateful. In fact, because I didn’t set a TBR this month I’ve read more in April than I have these past few months combined! At least it feels that way. I’d forgotten how happy I am when I manage to read a ton.

Throughout April I actually bought quite a few books. And read a few of them in April?! Which is…not something that usually happens to me, haha. I’m very relieved and happy that I somehow managed to do that. I usually buy books and then forget about them. Especially e-books. Do you forget about the e-books you’ve bought too? It’s like my number one fault regarding book buying.

I also managed to post a few things that were not book reviews! Yay time management, looooool.

Enjoy! Continue reading
