Shifting Love, I feel like was a book that was a long time coming. I get the sense of that; even after have read it back in May ’21.

Saying that, I’m going to say that Shifting Love was an okay ending to the Crescent City Witch series. More than anything though, I’m going to say that this book genuinely felt like a quick end. Like, quick! Exit stage left!

A lot of Shifting Love felt incredibly rushed, and I don’t know how to feel about that. If I had read books 1-4 in one sitting, I think I wouldn’t enjoyed Shifting Love more.

Though I will say that I’m super happy that these characters got a HEA.

As much I enjoyed the first 3 books (and I do remember enjoying them), I — unfortunately — didn’t end up liking Shifting Love as much as I had wanted to.

I’ve ended up giving Shifting Love, 2 stars.

Here’s the thing, I need you to believe monsters are real.

But ask me that question, and I’ll tell you the truth. No, it’s not possible. The more believers out there, though, the busier I am at night booking walking ghost tours in New Orleans’ French Quarter. I like giving tours, love them actually. I was born to do this—well, I thought I was until I met him. Now everything I thought I knew has changed.

It was a normal tour, like all the rest, except Spencer isn’t like anyone I’ve ever met. How am I supposed to resist those sapphire blue eyes and the sexiest smile I’ve ever seen? I mentioned he’s hot, right? And it’s not just him. He has three friends. Three men who look at me like I am the sun and the moon.

Just because Spencer saves me from a man whose speed is lightning fast and claims he and his pack mates have been looking for me doesn’t mean I should fall for them, does it? The temptation to give in to their suggestions is hard to resist. Maybe too hard.

Maybe I wasn’t meant to point out tombstones and landmarks. Maybe there is something to the prophecy Spencer’s pack talks about.

Maybe I don’t know sh*t about monsters after all.
But now I believe in them.

Truly, I loved Shifting Fates. There’s just enough action in the plot to make it worth the while to read the story, and on top of that the main character, Rose, is completely badass. She doesn’t know she has powers (something else that is very interesting in my opinion, I love with stories have that trope), and her coming into her powers was great to read. 

Spotted Her First, by Emma Dean | Book Review

Three hot leopard shifters? Yes please.

She has two weeks to find a way out of a demon contract and figure out how she’s going to deal with all three of these domineering shifters in her life and in her apartment. Will Piper be able to save herself and the pride she’s grown attached to before it’s too late?

Little fox shifter in a big bad wolf’s world.

My day started like every other day, my colleagues laughing at the tiny fox while I took down a red cap twice my size. It ended with an undercover job with three incredibly hot guys who are now my fake husbands.

This was the stuff of dreams. If the job went well I’d get a promotion and the big undercover jobs would become my norm. Except things never go quite to plan do they?

We were supposed to watch the pack dealing in a deadly and highly illegal drug. Except I spotted something else, something much bigger and more far reaching. Soon we were pulled into the fae courts, the elite dragon houses, and worse; there might be ties to the agency I’d dreamt of working for since I was a little girl.

Time to show the world just how well this tiny fox kicks ass.

Let’s start off with mentioning that there quite a few sex scenes within Outfoxed. For real. And the last sex scene in the book (pretty much the end scene to this first novel) is one big incredibly detailed and unnessecarily descriptive sex scene that I honestly skimmed over. Now…I’m all for sex scenes in books. However, the last one that I’m mentioning was too much for me. Yikes.

At least that was how my life had been until I was rescued by the most unlikely group of men.

Rescued might be too strong a word though.

The men of the Immortal Hunters Motorcycle Club aren’t exactly friendly. And when I find myself locked in a cage, yet again, I begin to question their intentions. They aren’t a regular MC though. Yes, they are heartless, merciless, violent, chaotic… but it’s all in the name of saving humans from supernaturals.

These men are tortured, each one stuck living with the demons of their pasts, and some of the sexiest men I’ve ever seen. Even if they are a little psychotic.

I can’t get attached though. Not when my life is on the line. And definitely not when I find out that I might be more dangerous than all of them combined.

Van Helsing Rising was a good story–I’ll give it that. The story overall was one that I enjoyed, and there’s nothing about the book or the story that I would complain about. Which is great.

The Rise of Eden was pretty good! I read this right after finishing The Dark Eden (book 2). Let me tell you, this third book is one hell of a whirlwind.
