Dragon Taken is a Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance.

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

Diving back into the Draecus Clan I was super excited to see where the story would lead. And while I wasn’t disappointed with Dragon Rebel, I wasn’t too thrilled either…

Mother of Shadows, by Meg Anne | Book Review

Hello and welcome to Adele Is Reading.

Today on the blog, I have my book review of:

Mother of Shadows, by Meg Anne.

Mother of Shadows is the first book in The Chosen series.

Trigger Warnings: Kidnapping, Blood, Fighting, Violence, mentions of Mass Murder, mentions of Dead Parents, Sex Scenes, mentions of Accident (with horse).
Please note that there may be other possible triggers that I may have missed.

“It’s not a story.”

With four words, Helena’s quiet life goes up in flames. When her childhood friend returns to tell her she is the prophesied ruler of the Chosen—those blessed with the gift of magic—there’s no avoiding her destiny.

Suddenly, Helena is surrounded by a circle of protectors, each man having sworn their loyalty to her since her birth. All except for one: her Mate.

It’s not enough that she learn how to use her magic and undergo a trial to prove her worthiness; in order to claim her title, Helena must also find the man who carries the other half of her soul.

Exiled due to a past he had no part in, Von is the last man the Chosen expect Helena to select. Despite their protests, his soul calls to hers, and there’s no denying he was made for her. But the prophecy stands…and all isn’t as it seems.

There’s an enemy lurking within plain sight who will stop at nothing to destroy her.

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

To be quite honest with you, I didn’t know what to expect from Mother of Shadows, like, the way that people converse is more akin to Olde English, but with regular English thrown into the mix.

There are different points of view, and there’s also a mixture of how the story is told. We have both a passive narrators voice, alongside a first point of view.

The Lost Eden, by Storm Song | Book Review

Hello and welcome to Adele Is Reading.
Today on the blog I have my book review of:

The Lost Eden, by Storm Song.

The Lost Eden is the first book in the Elemental Eden series.

Trigger / Content Warning: Drowning, Multiple Drownings, Humiliation, Murder, Blood, Wrongful Arrest.

Please note that there’s a chance that I didn’t catch any other possible triggers pertaining to The Lost Eden.

In a world ruled by elemental magic where everyone holds the ability to manipulate one element I, Eden Montgomery, was a misfit.

My entire life I thought I was a magical dud, thrown into an orphanage by my parents as a baby and forced to work a dead end job at a magical coffee shop just to get by. In a place where everyone was extraordinary I had come to terms with being ordinary.

Until my twentieth birthday when a handsome young stranger walked into the shop and my life changed forever.

But what he said couldn’t possibly be true- that I was the lost eden, a mage with the ability to control all four elements.

But when my best friend is captured by a fire wielding king hell bent on enslaving all the other mages I have no choice but to listen and try my hardest to tap into the power everyone thinks I have.

Only an eden can unite all of the magical sectors to rise up against the king.

I was prepared to master the four elements, but I wasn’t prepared to fall for the four hot elemental princes who were tasked with helping me save the world.

Can I actually master the ancient arts in time to save the world?

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

The Lost Eden was a pretty rad read, not gonna lie. I actually really enjoy reading elemental stories. I love the twists and turns that people create with them! And The Lost Eden did not disappoint.

Bane of Dragons, by Clara Hartley | Book Review

Hello and welcome back to Adele Is Reading!
Today on the blog, I have my book review of:

Bane of Dragons, by Clara Hartley.

Bane of Dragons is the first book in the Sera’s Curse series.

Trigger / Content Warnings: Body Issues, Eating Issues.

NOTE: If you have even the slightest trigger within Body Issues and Eating Issues, I highly suggest that you not read Bane of Dragons since both triggers are talked about more than once. I do not have issues with either triggers, and I had trouble reading the book because of the above triggers.

I’m surrounded by dragons, and they’re all afraid of me.

At the age of nine, I mistakenly touched someone else, giving him excruciating pain. Through that awful experience, I found out that a graze of my fingertips could torment any being with dragon blood. Because I was surrounded by them in my kingdom, my ability labelled me as cursed. And with that, my family lost everything.

I promised myself to never be shunned away again. That I had to be someone important for people to look up to. A crucial vote was coming up and I would do anything to win it. Then I met them. Four hidrae princes, dragon-shifters of the most powerful kind, who were immune to my abilities. Being able to touch someone else was intoxicating. Associating with them was killing my chances of winning the vote, but the princes drew me in—Rylan with his regal demeanor, Micah with his mystery, Kael who threw all care to the winds… and Gaius? Gaius should just fall on his face and die.

Don’t miss this slow-burn reverse harem romance, set in a world of fantasy, dragons and intrigue!

Interesting story; we don’t know how the curse that Sera has comes into play, really, but this first book has set the stage for when her curse no doubt comes into more focus. Since, ya know, Sera’s Curse is the name of the series.

Captive of Wolves, by Eva Chase | Book Review

Hello, and welcome to Adele Is Reading!
Today I have my book review of

Captive of Wolves, by Eva Chase.

Captive of Wolves is the first book in the Bound to the Fae series.

Trigger / Content Warnings: Bullying, Torture, Torture Mention, Cut mention, Blood mention, Blood, Self Harm mention, light sex scenes, Death, Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Abuse, Physical Abuse. Stockholm Syndrome.

My blood is their salvation… and my ruin.

For years, the monsters who killed my family have held me in a cage. Brutalized and half-starved. Only kept alive so they can steal my blood.

Until one evening when four eerily gorgeous men break me out of my prison.

They give me a soft bed and delicious food. They say they’ll protect me—but their generosity may come at a price.

My rescuers are monsters like my captors: fae who shift into wolves. A curse gripping the faerie realm turns them wild under the full moon. Only my blood can cure their rage.

These fearsome men need me, and not just to lift the curse. A tragedy left them outcasts, and offering me to their rulers could win them back the home and the power they lost.

No matter how kindly they treat me, no matter how their smoldering eyes and strong hands stir unfamiliar desires in both my body and my heart, their castle is just another prison. As long as I’m a prize more than a person, my life will never be my own.

I’ve survived this long without giving up. I won’t roll over now. But how can one damaged human girl hold her own against the savage fae?

*Captive of Wolves is the first in a new paranormal romance saga featuring possessive wolf shifters, fraught fae politics, and a wounded heroine coming into her own. Grab it now and get swept away in the fantasy!*

Crescent Wolves, by G. Bailey, & Regan Rosewood | Book Review

Hello friends! Welcome back to Adele Is Reading.
Today I have my book review of:

Crescent Wolves, by G. Bailey, & Regan Rosewood.
Crescent Wolves is the first book in the Supernatural Shifter Academy series.

Trigger Warnings: Attempted Child Abuse, Attempted Assault, Kidnapping, Torture mention, Murder, Human/Shifter Experimentation.

Secret societies. Magical boarding schools. Supernatural beings…What could go wrong?

I’m Millie Brix and apparently, I’m a supernatural shifter. Funny eighteenth birthday present, right?

Chosen for Supernatural Shifter Academy, I have to learn which shifter clan I belong to and how to use my powers that are slowly growing out of control. Supernatural Shifter Academy only has five hundred places and if I’m not strong enough to survive, I won’t get to walk away.

The Sirens lure you in, the Wolves bite first and ask questions later, the Dragons only care for themselves, the Vampires plan to own the world and the Witches will do whatever it takes to win.

I’m not going to let the academy or its students beat me, that’s for sure.

With a prince of the Vampires seducing me, a secretive Siren dead set on making me his, a gorgeous Wolf shifter who wants to claim my heart and an alpha Dragon who sees me as a prize he wants to keep… the academy is far more dangerous than it looks.

In this academy, secrets are the only thing you can trade with and I’m right in the middle of the biggest secret the academy has.

And when the truth comes out…the academy will fall.

17+ Reverse Harem Romance which means the main character will have more than one love interest. This is book one of a five-book series and will be rapidly released.

Seized By The Pack, by Ava Lunaria | Book Review

Hello! I’ve got another book review today. To be honest, I have enough book reviews to last me for another year or so if I were to upload one everyday. BUT for your sake, and mine, I’m trying to upload maybe….4 (max) a week?

Today’s book review is of Seized By The Pack (Paranormal Mates of Erinbren University, #1) by Ava Lunaria. Here’s the link to the synopsis on Am*zon, and this is a link to SBTP on GoodReads.

Luna Wright’s mother was obsessed with werewolves. That’s why, when abandoned by college jocks in the woods and she finds herself at the mercy of a werewolf pack, she knows the full moon could mean damnation or, if she’s lucky, salvation.
Maybe it’s time to switch her major from American mythology, to veterinary medicine.

A reverse harem werewolf romance with insta-love and a guaranteed HEA.

Adelaide’s Fate is a book that I’d had my eye on for a while prior to reading. I didn’t know what to expect, as I didn’t read beyond what the cover said. Which, admittedly, isn’t a whole lot. Haha. However, I knew that because Adelaide’s Fate is a G. Bailey novel, it had to be good–and if not, Adelaide’s Fate would be at least, interesting. Continue reading
