[DNF+ SPOILERS] Thunderhead, by Neal Shusterman | Book Review

Hello friends! Today’s post is my review of Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman. Thunderhead is the second book in the Arc of a Scythe trilogy.

There are minor spoilers in this review. 

Rowan has gone rogue, and has taken it upon himself to put the Scythedom through a trial by fire. Literally. In the year since Winter Conclave, he has gone off-grid, and has been striking out against corrupt scythes—not only in MidMerica, but across the entire continent. He is a dark folk hero now—“Scythe Lucifer”—a vigilante taking down corrupt scythes in flames.

Citra, now a junior scythe under Scythe Curie, sees the corruption and wants to help change it from the inside out, but is thwarted at every turn, and threatened by the “new order” scythes. Realizing she cannot do this alone—or even with the help of Scythe Curie and Faraday, she does the unthinkable, and risks being “deadish” so she can communicate with the Thunderhead—the only being on earth wise enough to solve the dire problems of a perfect world. But will it help solve those problems, or simply watch as perfection goes into decline?

The first page of the entire book, and part one, is eye-opening as well as concerning. Who the quote is by had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Hello everyone! How are you doing?

Today’s post is.. you guessed it: my monthly post of books I’m Looking Forward to! I’ve been doing these for a while now. Basically what these posts are, is just me talking about the books that I’m looking forward to reading that are being published in the following month that I’ve posted them in. I’m posting this in December, so the books featured in this post will all be books that will be published in January.

The fact that it’s already this close to being January is crazy. There’s so much to do lately! If you’re looking forward to any of these books as well, let me know! 

Scythe, by Neal Shusterman | Book Review #217

Scythe is the first book in the Arc of a Scythe duology? Trilogy? I don’t know.

In Scythe there are two different points of view. The first coming from Citra, and the second coming from Rowan. I didn’t know what to expect in Scythe, since it’s such a different kind of novel, where most of the worlds problems are solved. Almost like a Utopia kind of book. Yet the premise of Scythe contradicts my Utopian predictions. 

April Wrap Up | 2017

Hello all! I have been enjoying sitting in my room with my blinds and window open as of late. I love the sounds that surround early spring. I don’t know about where you live, but here where I live, I hear the traffic on the nearby bypass, the birds at both 5-6 AM & PM. I hear people outside doing their spring cleaning, and I hear kids playing around outside. That’s when it’s sunny. — When it’s raining (which I still love) I tend to hear the rain hitting the roof, along with the white noise that accompanies rain. I don’t usually hear all that much traffic when it rains, which is a nice break!

This month my To Be Read consisted of four (4) books!
