Sweet and Cute Books Recommendations

BR

Someone recently asked me over on my tumblr, if there were any sweet and cute books that I could recommend them.

I know everyone has their own definition of sweet and cute. Even I have my own definitions of sweet and cute. There’s short and sweet/cute, which are books that I could read within a two-to-three hour time frame. There’s just a regular ol’ short, cute and sweet books that may make you smile so hard your cheeks hurt. There are books that I’ve read that are longer, maybe more in-depth than the ‘norm,’ and there are books I’ve read that can be emotionally crippling, yet when I’ve finished the book, I found it to be incredibly sweet and/or cute.

Like I said: there are many types of short and cute books, and everyone does have their own tastes in books. Here are the books that I’m recommending!: Continue reading

Since You’ve Been Gone, by Morgan Matson | Book Review #234

This is my review of Since You’ve Been Gone from back in 2015. I’ve simply copied and pasted said review into this post. Enjoy!

Book Review

18189606It was Sloane who yanked Emily out of her shell and made life 100% interesting. But right before what should have been the most epic summer, Sloane just…disappears. All she leaves behind is a to-do list.

On it, thirteen Sloane-inspired tasks that Emily would normally never try. But what if they could bring her best friend back?

Apple picking at night? Okay, easy enough.

Dance until dawn? Sure. Why not?

Kiss a stranger? Um…

Emily now has this unexpected summer, and the help of Frank Porter (totally unexpected), to check things off Sloane’s list. Who knows what she’ll find?

Go skinny-dipping? Wait…what?

My Favourite Summer-y Contemporary Reads

IMG_5643Summer is just around the corner, which means I will be spending a lot more of my time inside avoiding the heat. You can bet that I’ll be having lots of cold drinks, and freezies.

Staying inside just means that I will have more time to read. Now these books are not ones that I’ll read in the summer. These books just remind me of summer since the books take place during summertime.

Here are a few of my favourite summer themed contemporaries! Continue reading

Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

Today’s books are from two very different genres. I’m taking a gander at one of the books, since the book is a Adult Mystery. The second book is a Young Adult Contemporary novel. So you see, both books seem to be on the opposite side of their spectrums.

The first book I’m going to be talking about is a book that everyone and their mother has been talking about. This book was very popular when it first came out, and from there it was ballooned. I feel like everyone was recommended this book. The book I’m talking about is Continue reading

Rainy Day Reads | Top 5 Wednesday #10

t5wpic

This weeks topic for Top 5 Wednesday is about Rainy Day Reads! I’m taking this as books that would be perfect to read on a rainy day. I have no idea about you, but when I read during the day, the atmosphere around me has to match the feel I’m getting from the book I might potentially read. I like to immerse myself in the books I read. Maybe that’s why I often find myself reading at night or in the early mornings when no one would bother me..

So when it’s raining, I like to read a book that will have a warm atmosphere around it. The same goes for generally cold days, or in the winter. Books that would take place in Summer would be perfect! If you want to read a darker book though, say, something creepy, a rainy day would be another great time to read whatever came to your mind! Here are the books that I would recommend: Continue reading
