Shifting Shadows is a collection of Mercy Thompson Short Stories. Of the 12 short stories in this novel, I believe on a couple are from Mercy’s viewpoint. The rest are from characters we’ve met along the way.

Like these short stories, what I’ve got to say about said stories will be short as well.

November & December Wrap Up + BOOK HAUL! | 2018

monthly-wrap-up-book-haul-1Hello friends! I’m back, finally. And it’s nearing the end of this year! Woah, this past year went by so quickly, so I’m certain that the next years will go by even faster.

The break I had taken from blogging was actually a great thing that I chose to do. Not only did I decide at the last minute to hand craft a bunch of gifts this year, but I did so with very little time left in the year. Now that the holidays have passed I can read again!!

Having not reading as much as I wanted to these last few months have been a huge bummer. I still read here and there, and there was even a week or two where I did nothing but read or watch anime and catch up on a few youtube videos, but I missed being able to read whenever I wanted to, and I missed being able to participate in the book community.. Like I said though, I did manage to read a bit!

With this post being a wrap up of the last two months of my life, not much has happened on Adele Is Reading, thus, the Wrap Up’s are going to be shorter than usual. Continue reading

The Charmer, by Autumn Dawn | Silence Fallen, by Patricia Briggs | [Mini] Book Reviews #259 & #260

Book Review

10533095Jasmine didn’t realize her friend Wiley was special until they were drawn into another world. Here Wiley is betrothed to the ruler of the Haunt, a wererace both dangerous and proud.

Keilor is the master of soldiers, a man few would cross, yet he’d never met a menace like the little brunette his princess calls friend. Will Jasmine find the portal home, or will she find a werewolf of her own?

This is a little mini-review of my re-read of The Charmer. The first time I read The Charmer I was still in high school. I was probably 15 at the time. Well, I’m currently 22 so it’s been seven years since I’ve last read The Charmer.

Overall the Charmer is a short read, I think I finished reading The Charmer in only 2 hours, maybe? The plot of the story is fast as well.

I enjoyed reading Jasmine’s story again. I think that my only wish were that the rest of the series was told in Jasmine’s point of view as well. — The rest of the series is told in different views of the exact same time line that The Charmer is told in.

I gave The Charmer, 3 of 5 stars on Goodreads.

Attacked and abducted in her home territory, Mercy finds herself in the clutches of the most powerful vampire in the world, taken as a weapon to use against alpha werewolf Adam and the ruler of the Tri-Cities vampires. In coyote form, Mercy escapes only to find herself without money, without clothing, and alone in the heart of Europe…

Unable to contact Adam and the rest of the pack, Mercy has allies to find and enemies to fight, and she needs to figure out which is which. Ancient powers stir, and Mercy must be her agile best to avoid causing a war between vampires and werewolves, and between werewolves and werewolves. And in the heart of the ancient city of Prague, old ghosts rise…

I was quickly laughing in this novel. I was legitimately laughing within the first 2 pages. Continue reading

Library Reads #27

libraryrreadsLibrary Reads: I’m a Library Lover, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from libraries. I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

These books were borrowed from mid April to mid May. — Enjoy! Continue reading

April Wrap Up | 2017

monthly-wrap-up-book-haul-1

Hello all! I have been enjoying sitting in my room with my blinds and window open as of late. I love the sounds that surround early spring. I don’t know about where you live, but here where I live, I hear the traffic on the nearby bypass, the birds at both 5-6 AM & PM. I hear people outside doing their spring cleaning, and I hear kids playing around outside. That’s when it’s sunny. — When it’s raining (which I still love) I tend to hear the rain hitting the roof, along with the white noise that accompanies rain. I don’t usually hear all that much traffic when it rains, which is a nice break!

unnamed-15This month my To Be Read consisted of four (4) books! Continue reading

Hello lovelies! As you can see, I have a Library Reads post for you today! I’ve been trying to put myself on a kind of library ban. I can get books as long as the books are part of a series I’ve started reading, or books that I’ve queued for in the past. — This ban isn’t working though! Which is totally fine, because library books are free for the most part.

Anyway, here are some books that I’ve borrowed from the library! I’m honestly looking forward to reading all of these babies. Continue reading

Hello, all! This is another Library Reads post! I’ve been going through the books that I won’t have time to read, and I’ve given them back to the library. Which means that I have more room for different library books! Even though I am trying my hardest to read the ones I already have here at home.

So here are the books I have in this post!  Continue reading
