TBR #47; Red Cinder (Re-read Version!)

Screen Shot 2016-04-10 at 10.22.37 PMWelcome, reader/s! For a while now, I’ve been writing a bi-weekly post about books that are on
my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

This TBR Tuesday post will be the last one for a while. I don’t know how long, but I’m going to be taking a break from TBR Tuesday. Life just seems to be too busy these days, folks! That, and my interests are dividing quite a bit.

To Be Read Tuesday this week contains two books that I want to re-read but never seem to have the time to! Both of these books are Fantasy novels. One of these books I ended up enjoying way more than the other. Let’s get to it! Continue reading

ucbrpicHello everyone! How are you doing?

Today’s post is.. you guessed it: my monthly post of books I’m Looking Forward to! I’ve been doing these for a while now. Basically what these posts are, is just me talking about the books that I’m looking forward to reading that are being published in the following month that I’ve posted them in. I’m posting this in October, so the books featured in this post will all be books that will be published in November.

If you’re looking forward to any of these books as well, let me know!

6 Popular YA Books that I Actually Enjoyed Reading

6poplikedPopular books are always an iffy thing since the reactions people can have are widely varied. Some people could love the book(s), while some people are the  exact opposite of that.

I usually find myself in the in-between. I didn’t love the book but I didn’t end up hating it either. For this post though here are some popular YA books that I actually ended up enjoying!

Here are just 6 Popular Young Adult Books that I ended up enjoying!

TBR Tuesday #19

Screen Shot 2016-04-10 at 10.22.37 PM

Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR.

Both of these books that I’m talking about today, are written by authors that I’ve read from before. Both of these books fall into the Fantasy genre; which I love. The difference between these two books though, is that the first book I’m talking about is the first in a trilogy, while the second book is a book in the last of it’s series.

Another difference between these two books is that one of the books deals with Faeries, and the other deals with Space.

The first book I’m talking about today is Lament by Maggie Stiefvater. Continue reading

Favourite Character Names | Top 5 Wednesday #19

t5wpic

This week’s Top 5 Wednesday post is about the Top 5 Favourite Character Names.

Names hold a lot of meaning, especially in stories. Authors can name a character, and when you look up that character’s name, a lot of pieces will fall into place. Now for me, I personally really don’t care about character names. I mean, it’s a name. However, that doesn’t stop me from having favourite character names.  Continue reading

The Bookish Alphabet | Tag

After scouring wordpress for the pass few days looking for bookish tags to do, I came across The Bookish Alphabet tag! I’ve originally saw it off of KinmSiang’s WordPress account, and I decided to do this tag since I’ve been wanting to diversify my blog a little. Do more stuff on this blog aside from book reviews all the time. So without further do: The Bookish Alphabet tag!

The Rules for this tag are:
Pick a book that is on your shelf or one that you have read in the past and fill out each letter of the Alphabet. The idea is to use books that you have either read or that are on your TBR list.

Seems easy! Continue reading

#ReadWomen

Hello, all! So you may have heard by now (especially if you’re in the booklr community over on tumblr) that there is a new reading challenge happening during the month of December!

The challenge is called #readwomen and how it works is that you only read books written by women for a month. I’ve seen some people extend theirs to see how long they can go without reading a book written by a male author. Which I personally enjoy seeing because I seem to have been only reading female written books for the last while now.

The whole challenge isn’t to degrade men, or tear down their work. The point of this whole challenge is to support female authors and I, for one, am all about supporting females in all aspects of life.

The books I’m going to try to read are 9 books I own, and a few library books that I’ve been meaning to read.. I need to get the library pile down!!!

These are some of the books I want to try to read for sure: Continue reading
