Recent + Not so Recent Favourite Books

Hello friends! Today’s post is all about my recent + not-so recent favourite books. Some of these books, as you can tell by the title, are books that I’ve read recently that have quickly become my favourites. While some of the books are stories that I’ve read not-so recently that are still my favourites.

• We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

The first book we have up in this post is We Were Liars. We Were Liars is a book that kept me completely transfixed in the story. So much so that everything that happens completely blew me away and I honestly bawled my eyes out and ugly cried. The reason why I love this book is because Lockhart’s story; the main characters’ story painted such a picture in my mind. The reason why I love this book is because this book made me cry.

The Rainbow Book Tag

Hello mi amigos! Today’s post is going to be the Rainbow Book Tag. I came across this book tag from Kelly | Another Book in the Wall. I haven’t done a book tag in a long time, so I’m actually pretty excited to do tag. Let’s get down to things!

August 2017 Wrap Up

Hello everyone! Today’s post is that of my August 2017 wrap-up. How has your August been? — It’s incredibly hard for me to believe that August has already come and pass. That tomorrow is September.

It’s always hard for me to finish my monthly TBR lists. I usually have at least 6 or 7 books planned out that I want to read. With having only 2 or 3 books on my monthly TBR now, I’ve found that it is much more manageable for me to accomplish the list I’ve made.

My TBR of this month had 3 books on it. The TBR books were: Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson. Then there was Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking, and finally, You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner. I managed to read all of this months’ TBR! This is the first (or second, I can’t really remember) time I’ve managed to read what was on my monthly TBR!

The Summer I Turned Pretty, by Jenny Han | Book Review #243

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer–they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Sweet and Cute Books Recommendations

Someone recently asked me over on my tumblr, if there were any sweet and cute books that I could recommend them.

I know everyone has their own definition of sweet and cute. Even I have my own definitions of sweet and cute. There’s short and sweet/cute, which are books that I could read within a two-to-three hour time frame. There’s just a regular ol’ short, cute and sweet books that may make you smile so hard your cheeks hurt. There are books that I’ve read that are longer, maybe more in-depth than the ‘norm,’ and there are books I’ve read that can be emotionally crippling, yet when I’ve finished the book, I found it to be incredibly sweet and/or cute.

Like I said: there are many types of short and cute books, and everyone does have their own tastes in books. Here are the books that I’m recommending!:

June Book Haul & Wrap Up | 2017

June has come and gone. What happened to the time?! I can’t believe its July first tomorrow; which means that my country is celebrating its’ 150th birthday! Happy Early Birthday, Canada!

I had nine (9) books, turned eight (8) on my TBR this month. The books from left to right were: The Almost Truth by Eileen Cook, Year of Mistaken Discoveries by Eileen Cook, Twisted by Hannah Jayne, The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid, Bright Smoke Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge, The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand, The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han, Flashfall by Jenny Moyer, & Fireworks by Katie Cotungo.

May Wrap Up | 2017

How was everyone’s May? May is actually one of the busiest months for me. I mean, there’s mothers day, my brother’s wedding anniversary, my dad’s birthday, my parents wedding anniversary, and then my sisters birthday. All in that order, too.

I officially marked A Monster Calls (by Patrick Ness) as a Did Not Finish (DNF). I’ve just lost all interest in the book. Which is slightly upsetting, but I can’t help that I’ve lost interest.

The books I had on my TBR this month were: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver; since I really want to read the book and eventually watch the movie with my mom. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard; I really need to finish re-reading this so I can put the book out of my mind! Cryer’s Cross by Lisa McMann; I’ve had the book for a while, and every time I look at my shelf my eyes go to Cryer’s Cross. Evermore by Alyson Noël; I’ve been wanting to re-read Evermore for a few years now, so why not!

I’m leaving May, and entering June reading Before I Fall, as well as Evermore. Let’s see what I read this May!

First Book Signing & Meeting Jenny Han!

Hello! Today I’ll be talking about my first bookish event. I don’t really do “events,” per say.. I’m more of a get-in, get what you want, buy it and leave, kind of person. However, with re-reading To All the Boys I’ve Loved, and P.S. I Still Love You, and then finally reading Always and Forever, Lara Jean, thus finishing the trilogy, I realized that the To All the Boys I’ve Loved trilogy had become one of my favourites. So when I found out that there was going to be a signing event in Vancouver, I jumped at the opportunity to go. …Then I decided to not go, because who did I know that was going? No one; and then I think it was a day later that my friend Sam invited me to go along with her. 

Always and Forever, Lara Jean, by Jenny Han | Book Review #207

Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.

But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.

When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

April Wrap Up | 2017

Hello all! I have been enjoying sitting in my room with my blinds and window open as of late. I love the sounds that surround early spring. I don’t know about where you live, but here where I live, I hear the traffic on the nearby bypass, the birds at both 5-6 AM & PM. I hear people outside doing their spring cleaning, and I hear kids playing around outside. That’s when it’s sunny. — When it’s raining (which I still love) I tend to hear the rain hitting the roof, along with the white noise that accompanies rain. I don’t usually hear all that much traffic when it rains, which is a nice break!

This month my To Be Read consisted of four (4) books!
