Books I Hope to Read Soon | Part 1/?

Hello there, friend! I thought I’d try a new kind of post today, where I talk about the books that I want to try reading soon.

I’ve had these books on my mind for a while, so I’m happy to be able to talk about them. I always say that I’m going to read a book, and the I ultimately end up not reading the book because I’ve either forgot that it exists, OR other books take my attention.

The first on the list is: Continue reading

May 2018 Wrap Up & Book Haul

Hello! Today’s post will be my monthly wrap up for May. As you can see by the title, haha. I also ended up buying quite a few books, so check those out as well!

IMG_5901Knowing that I probably wouldn’t stick to it, I actually came up with a TBR this month!

My TBR for May included: The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas, Under the Empyrean Sky by Chuck Wendig, The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima, Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson, and finally, A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab.

I ended up reading way more books that I thought I would’ve this month, since May is typically one of the busiest months of the year for me. Yet I ended up reading 08 books, and 10 manga. Not bad if I do say so myself! Continue reading

Kinslayer, by Jay Kristoff | Book Review #194

screen-shot-2017-01-17-at-5-02-42-pm

Today’s post is a book review of Kinslayer, by Jay Kristoff. Kinslayer is the second book in the trilogy called The Lotus War.

15773979A SHATTERED EMPIRE
The mad Shōgun Yoritomo has been assassinated by the Stormdancer Yukiko, and the threat of civil war looms over the Shima Imperium. The Lotus Guild conspires to renew the nation’s broken dynasty and crush the growing rebellion simultaneously – by endorsing a new Shōgun who desires nothing more than to see Yukiko dead.

A DARK LEGACY
Yukiko and the mighty thunder tiger Buruu have been cast in the role of heroes by the Kagé rebellion. But Yukiko herself is blinded by rage over her father’s death, and her ability to hear the thoughts of beasts is swelling beyond her power to control. Along with Buruu, Yukiko’s anchor is Kin, the rebel Guildsman who helped her escape from Yoritomo’s clutches. But Kin has his own secrets, and is haunted by visions of a future he’d rather die than see realized.

A GATHERING STORM
Kagé assassins lurk within the Shōgun’s palace, plotting to end the new dynasty before it begins. A waif from Kigen’s gutters begins a friendship that could undo the entire empire. A new enemy gathers its strength, readying to push the fracturing Shima imperium into a war it cannot hope to survive. And across raging oceans, amongst islands of black glass, Yukiko and Buruu will face foes no katana or talon can defeat.

The ghosts of a blood-stained past.’

What I like most about Kinslayer, is that prior to actually reading the book theres this quick character review/recap. — Which is great to have in a book that deals with lots of characters. Continue reading

Library Reads: I’m a Library Lover, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from libraries. I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of! Continue reading

Hello lovelies! I have said, somewhere in previous posts, that I need to stop reading library books, and start focusing my attention on the many books I own. However, I always seem to be finding myself at the library picking up more and more books. Today’s post is no exception.

If you didn’t know, these Library Reads posts are for me to catalogue the books that I get out of the library. I put down a few thoughts of the books that I’ve borrowed prior to reading them.  Continue reading
