July ’18 Wrap Up + Book Haul

IMG_6383I had a TBR set up for July! I should know better than this, because it never works out for me personally. So if you set up your own little monthly TBR’s that’s great!

The books I had set up on my TBR for July was: Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas, Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, Ascend by Amanda Hocking, The Beast us an Animal by Peternelle van Arsdale, and finally, The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. I unknowingly had a fantasy theme going on! Though I did not intend to have it that way…

I ended up not completing/reading all of the books on this months TBR. Of the 5 I had set out to read, I only read one. Which I’m honestly not even upset about. So these books will go back on my shelves in hopes of reading them some other time!  Continue reading

Inherit the Stars by Tessa Elwood | {ARC} Book Review #371

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of Inherit the Stars by Tessa Elwood, from Perseus Books, Running Press, via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This in no way impacted my review.

Trigger Warning:
Blood

25463009Three royal houses ruling three interplanetary systems are on the brink of collapse, and they must either ally together or tear each other apart in order for their people to survive.

Asa is the youngest daughter of the house of Fane, which has been fighting a devastating food and energy crisis for far too long. She thinks she can save her family’s livelihood by posing as her oldest sister in an arranged marriage with Eagle, the heir to the throne of the house of Westlet. The appearance of her mother, a traitor who defected to the house of Galton, adds fuel to the fire, while Asa also tries to save her sister Wren’s life . . . possibly from the hands of their own father.

But as Asa and Eagle forge a genuine bond, will secrets from the past and the urgent needs of their people in the present keep them divided?

Publication Date: December 08, 2015.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a total mood reader. It’s taken me a while to get back into the groove of wanting to read Science Fiction novels.

I have high hopes for Inherit the Stars. I imagined that this novel would be action packed with a bit of romance.  Continue reading

June 2018 Wrap Up + Mini Book Haul

IMG_6230Hello, friends! How are you doing? — Today’s post is my Wrap Up post for June. We’re already 6 months into the year! The older I get, the faster time flies past me.

My TBR for June was actually only 3 books. These books were Sea of Change by Kelley Armstrong, Graceling by Kristin Cashore, and Eve by Anna Carey.

The first week of June, I actually participated in a readathon, dubbed #goatathon, over on tumblr! Three of the four books that I had planned on reading during the Goatathon were the books I marked as my June TBR! So that worked hand-in-hand for me. Continue reading

State of the ARC #5 | June ’18

State-of-the-ARC

State of the ARC Meme

State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs(Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.

My goal for my June ARC’s post was to be able to say that I finished reading all the “current titles” I had. There were five titles to work through. Three of the ARCs were Fantasy, and the last two are be Mysteries. Continue reading
