My Favourite Reads of 2018

FRo2018Hello friends! As the title says, today’s post is all about my Favourite Reads of 2018.

The beginning of 2018 turned out to be a great start of the year for me. I read quite a few books and they still make me feel things after the fact.

I know there are other people who like (or follow the trend) to narrow down their favourite reads to a certain number. For example, back in 2010-2015 people would have posts like “My top 10 books of 2010!” and the number would go higher every year. I’m not judging you if you did this yourself. If you did end up doing this, then kudos to you and I hope you had fun creating those posts. For me personally though, I don’t like narrowing down my favourite reads to a certain number. — I 100% prefer to just…let my favourite reads be my favourite reads without having to narrow them down.

With that been said, I’ve listed my 11 favourite reads out of the 156 novels I read last year.

Without a further ado, here are my favourite reads of 2018!

The Wild Hunt (Faerie Sworn, #1, and trilogy) by Ron C. Nieto22427190

Let me just say that I loved everything about this series. I genuinely enjoyed reading about the whirlwind that our main character, Lily, rode on. What I also liked about this series was that the male fae that accompanied Lily is…who he is. Haha, that was me avoiding any spoilers. (my review)

10 Notable Books I’ve Read in 2018 (So Far..)

Hello friends! —- Today’s post is about the 10 most notable books that I’ve read this year. As I’m writing this post, I’ve read 96 books so far this year. That’s a lot. It’s freakin’ June and this honestly proves how much of a social life that I don’t have. Which I’m 50% OK with, because that means that I get to read more books.

So here are the books that had some sort of impact on me, so far this year. In no particular order: Continue reading

If I Tell You, by Alicia Tuckerman | {ARC} Book Review #329

A huge Thank-You to Pantera Press via Netgalley, for allowing me to read If I Tell You by Alicia Tuckerman, in exchange for an honest review.

Trigger Warning:
Homophobia, Abuse, Death

36437107Life and love don’t wait until you’re ready, but what if finding yourself means losing everything you’ve ever known?

Seventeen-year-old Alex Summers lives with a secret and the constant fear someone will find out. But when a new family moves to town, they bring with them their teenage daughter Phoenix Stone. When Alex falls for Phoenix, there is no warning. In a small town with small minds, girls don’t go out with other girls, even if they want to.

In fear there is bravery – you can either cling to the edge or have the courage to jump. But what do you do when you’re left spiralling through the freefall?

Publication Date: March 01, 2018.

What I expected from If I Tell You, was a light, but still kind of heavy WLW story. If I Tell You…is, in fact a really heavy book. Continue reading

State-of-the-ARC

State of the ARC meme

State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.

I’ve had my eye on this “State of the ARC” meme for a while now. I’ve never wanted to participate, since I myself am shamefully, incredibly behind on quite a few dozen ARC’s that I have. I cringe every time I think of them.

I found myself reading a few ARC’s I had this month, so I’m happy to say that I’m going to try and participate in these every month!
