May Wrap Up | 2017

How was everyone’s May? May is actually one of the busiest months for me. I mean, there’s mothers day, my brother’s wedding anniversary, my dad’s birthday, my parents wedding anniversary, and then my sisters birthday. All in that order, too.

I officially marked A Monster Calls (by Patrick Ness) as a Did Not Finish (DNF). I’ve just lost all interest in the book. Which is slightly upsetting, but I can’t help that I’ve lost interest.

The books I had on my TBR this month were: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver; since I really want to read the book and eventually watch the movie with my mom. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard; I really need to finish re-reading this so I can put the book out of my mind! Cryer’s Cross by Lisa McMann; I’ve had the book for a while, and every time I look at my shelf my eyes go to Cryer’s Cross. Evermore by Alyson Noël; I’ve been wanting to re-read Evermore for a few years now, so why not!

I’m leaving May, and entering June reading Before I Fall, as well as Evermore. Let’s see what I read this May!

I’ve had this book on my shelf…for a few years. It feels like ten years has passed by, but I know it was only maybe..3 or 4 years (hopefully, at most) that I’ve had Hereafter on my shelves. And what I have to say about Hereafter is…iffy. Not good, but not entirely bad, either.

The initial factor that drew me into wanting to read Hereafter was the fact that the main character is a ghost, and that she herself realizes that she’s dead. But the real kicker for me was that Amelia can’t remember anything about herself or her past. Or how she died.

For the most part, I did enjoy reading Hereafter. I really, really wanted to love this book. However, that really wasn’t the case. 

February Wrap Up

Hello friends! Here’s my February Wrap-Up.

It has snowed off and on all of February; which is short of a miracle, I believe. I don’t think it’s snowed in February here in my part of Canada since 2007, maybe? Even the news has said that it’s rare for Vancouver to get this much snow in our Winter season. I think we’ve gotten around 68cm(?) of snow. Usually this happens only every ten years. Anyway, lets get on to reviewing what I’ve done and read this past month, shall we?

My February TBR consisted of four books: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition, illustrated by Jim Kay, Hereafter by Tara Hudson, Inhuman by Kat Falls, and Mistwood by Leah Cypress. I unfortunately only got around to reading one of the four books this month (Hereafter).

TBR Tuesday #20

Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later. 

Both of the books that I’m talking about today are Young Adult Fantasy books. I bought these books at the same time, so for a while now, when I think of one, I’m reminded of the other. They’re also both first books in their respective series. However, one book deals with Ghosts, and the other story deals with Shapeshifting.

The first book I’m talking about is Hereafter by Tara Hudson.
