Recent + Not so Recent Favourite Books

Hello friends! Today’s post is all about my recent + not-so recent favourite books. Some of these books, as you can tell by the title, are books that I’ve read recently that have quickly become my favourites. While some of the books are stories that I’ve read not-so recently that are still my favourites.

• We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

The first book we have up in this post is We Were Liars. We Were Liars is a book that kept me completely transfixed in the story. So much so that everything that happens completely blew me away and I honestly bawled my eyes out and ugly cried. The reason why I love this book is because Lockhart’s story; the main characters’ story painted such a picture in my mind. The reason why I love this book is because this book made me cry.

October 2017 Wrap Up + Book Haul

Hello! Today’s post is my October 2017 Wrap Up + Book Haul!

October is one of the busier months for me personally. It’s busy because here in Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving on (or around) the 12th of October. Then it’s my birthday on the 25th (Two more years until my champagne birthday! Not that I’m going to drink, haha). After that, it’s Halloween!

In October I had 7 books on my TBR this month. Seven books is completely over ambitious for me, since I never really end up reading what I want to read. The books that were on my TBR this month were: The Ocean at the End of the Lane, by Neil Gaiman; Milk and Honey, by Rupi Kaur; Midnight at the Electric by Jodi Lynn Anderson; Shutter, by Courtney Alameda; Evil Librarian, by Michelle Knudsen; Labyrinth Lost, by Zoraida Córdova; and finally, The Madman’s Daughter, by Megan Shepherd.

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia | Book Review #279

‘You found me in a constellation.’

I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I sat down to read Eliza and Her Monsters. All I really knew about this book was that the main character, Eliza, had an insanely popular online comic book, and that when a new boy moved to her school, Eliza’s life begins to unravel. That was it, so I decided to read the book whenever I got the chance.

Books I’m Looking Forward to this May | 2017

Hello folks! It’s almost May! We’re almost halfway through 2017. That is mind-boggling to me. Anyway, here is my post about all the books I’m looking forward to this upcoming May (2017)!

May 2nd

• Always and Forever, Lara Jean, by Jenny Han

I’m super excited about Always and Forever, Lara Jean, since this book should be the last book in its trilogy — unless Han decides to move further on with the series. However, I’m looking forward to what Lara Jean’s attitude will be like, since I did not enjoy reading her bratty attitude in the first book, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

• A Court of Wings and Ruin, by Sarah J. Maas

I’m a huge fan of Mass’ ACOTAR trilogy. I’m probably going to have to take transit to go and buy ACOWAR in downtown Vancouver though, like I did when I bought ACOMAF. No worries though!

• Girl Out of Water, by Laura Silverman

December Wrap Up & #ReadWomen Final Update

Hello! If you didn’t know, for the month of December there was a reading challenge over on tumblr. The sole purpose of this challenge was to only read books written by women, in support of women. I’m actually writing this as a December Wrap Up to save time and energy.

The books I read this past month have all written by women! I usually read books what are written by females anyway, but still. – These are the books that I’ve read for the Read Women challenge (all books are listed in the order that I read them):

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia | Book Review #48

Armed with a take-no-prisoners attitude, her camera, a Magic 8-Ball, and her only ally (her little sister), Alex wages a war against her Schizophrenia, determined to stay sane long enough to get into college. She’s pretty optimistic about her chances until classes begin, and she runs into Miles. Didn’t she imagine him? Before she knows it, Alex is making friends, going to parties, falling in love, and experiencing all the usual rites of passage for teenagers. But Alex is used to being crazy. Ok, honestly? This book broke me. Made You Up starts with a memory that Alex has. This memory proves to be important later on.

There are so many great parts to this book. AKA, all of it. I love this book. Which is surprising, because I didn’t think that I would. There are so many emotions in this book, and I love how Zappia portrayed these characters.

After scouring wordpress for the pass few days looking for bookish tags to do, I came across The Bookish Alphabet tag! I’ve originally saw it off of KinmSiang’s WordPress account, and I decided to do this tag since I’ve been wanting to diversify my blog a little. Do more stuff on this blog aside from book reviews all the time. So without further do: The Bookish Alphabet tag!
