February 2018 | Wrap Up & Mini Book Haul

IMG_5463I didn’t have a set ‘To Be Read” pile/list for Februarybut I did want to try and read at least 10 ARC’s that I have. I’m so freakin’ happy to say that I’ve read 11 ARC’s! I DNF’d 3 of them, but I’m counting them as read, since I read enough to get a handle on the story.  Continue reading

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE Vol.03, by CLAMP | Manga Review #17

13569CAN PURE DETERMINATION DEFEAT A MASTER MAGICIAN?
Sakura is awake, but she remembers almost nothing–certainly not Syaoran, who has sacrificed everything to help her. Accompanied by the happy-go-lucky Fai, the intense Kurogane, and the strikingly odd creature Mokona Modoki, Sakura and Syaoran make their way into a new universe where a traveling magician has suddenly become frighteningly powerful and is terrorizing an entire town. Only a few independent-minded stragglers remain to battle for control of their own lives. Fai, the lone magician in the group, traded his magical powers to the dimension witch, xxxHOLiC’s Yûko, before the journey started. Without a weapon with which to fight, can the extraordinary group of friends defeat a master magician who can control the Earth’s elements?

Going into this third volume, I had no idea what to expect. I mean, so much happens in each of these volumes that I can never predict what’s going to happen! The bottom line is the same in the 3 volumes that I’ve read: Find and get the feather to give to Sakura so she can have her memories back.

I genuinely enjoy the scenes where Sayouran is after the feather and then the story cuts back to Kurogane and Fai fighting. They both have hidden elements to them and I’m looking forward to uncovering their secrets in the other manga’s.

What happens at the end of this volume had me very happy. I do love a good revenge scenes.

3 stars to this third volume!

Happy Reading!

13574A WORLD OF MODERN MECHA AND MAGIC

Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and Mokona venture to the Hanshin Republic to find one of the missing pieces of Sakura’s memory, transformed into magically powerful feathers. There, Syaoran meets his “Kudan”: a fierce wolf-spirit whose fiery power mirrors Syaoran’s personal strength. But with foes like a pop idol who sings words of pain, Syaoran’s hunt for feathers is no child’s game! And even if he finds the feathers, will Sakura ever wake up from her magical sleep? And since Syaoran bargained away their relationship in a pact with a witch, can their love ever return to the way it was?

It took me a long time ti finish this second volume since I had reached a good part of the story and I didn’t want that “good part” of the story to end. So I stalled on finishing reading the volume. Continue reading

Library Reads #34

libraryrreadsLibrary Reads: I’m a huge fan of Libraries. I tend to visit the library quite a bit, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from the library of my hometown, or one of a few libraries that I go to.
I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little bit of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

These are the books that I’ve borrowed from the middle two weeks of January.

Hello! Long time no Library Reads post! In this most recent post I talk briefly about the books I’ve borrowed from the library. This time I’ve borrowed about 15 books from 2 different libraries.

Enjoy!

December 2017 Wrap Up & Book Haul

Hello, and Happy New Year! I hope your celebrations went well, and that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.

Onto the December 2018 Wrap-Up! — I didn’t have a TBR for this month, because I knew that with Chirstmas this last month, things and life in general would be incredibly hectic. Yet I managed to read 10 books! Considering it was the busy hustle-and-bustle of the Holidays and Celebrations were to be had, I did pretty well with my readings!

I bought a LOT of books in December. I only received one, which I’m not at all complaining about. I’ve read the book, and I honestly, genuinely enjoyed it. I know I’m going to re-read it this 2018 (hopefully).

I genuinely did not know what to think of, or expect from this Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE first volume. I didn’t even know that this series existed until I found the first volume at the library. Continue reading
