January 2019 Wrap Up, Book Haul & Thoughts

img_7631Hello friends! Welcome, welcome. Today’s post is my January 2019 (!!!!!!!!) Wrap Up and Book Haul.

It’s been long time since I last posted a monthly TBR on my Instagram… When I first posted my TBR for January, I wasn’t sure on whether or not I’d end up completing the TBR pile since I was pretty sick between the day after Christmas until through halfway of January.

July ’18 Wrap Up + Book Haul

IMG_6383I had a TBR set up for July! I should know better than this, because it never works out for me personally. So if you set up your own little monthly TBR’s that’s great!

The books I had set up on my TBR for July was: Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas, Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, Ascend by Amanda Hocking, The Beast us an Animal by Peternelle van Arsdale, and finally, The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. I unknowingly had a fantasy theme going on! Though I did not intend to have it that way…

I ended up not completing/reading all of the books on this months TBR. Of the 5 I had set out to read, I only read one. Which I’m honestly not even upset about. So these books will go back on my shelves in hopes of reading them some other time!  Continue reading

Burn Bright, by Patricia Briggs | Book Review #381

Burn Bright is the fifth (#5) book in the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs.

35839437Now mated werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Latham face a threat like no other–one that lurks too close to home…

They are the wild and the broken. The werewolves too damaged to live safely among their own kind. For their own good, they have been exiled to the outskirts of Aspen Creek, Montana. Close enough to the Marrok’s pack to have its support; far enough away to not cause any harm.

With their Alpha out of the country, Charles and Anna are on call when an SOS comes in from the fae mate of one such wildling. Heading into the mountainous wilderness, they interrupt the abduction of the wolf–but can’t stop blood from being shed. Now Charles and Anna must use their skills–his as enforcer, hers as peacemaker–to track down the attackers, reopening a painful chapter in the past that springs from the darkest magic of the witchborn…

I have been looking forward to reading Burn Bright for I don’t know… 6 months. I love the Mercy Thompson series, but the Alpha and Omega series is close to my heart as well. Since I had been excited to read Burn Bright for 6 months, I’ve got to say that my expectations were incredibly high prior to my reading. When I started reading Burn Bright though, I was trying my best to lower those expectations since I really wanted to enjoy and love this addition to Anna and Charles’ story. Continue reading

Library Reads #39

libraryrreadsLibrary Reads: I’m a huge fan of Libraries. I tend to visit the library quite a bit, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from the library of my hometown, or one of a few libraries that I go to.

I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little bit of my love for libraries, while simultaneously informing you of books you may or may have not known of!

Hello friends! Today’s post is about the books I’ve borrowed from the library recently. There are a few so lets get into it! I borrowed these books on June 23rd, and on July 7th. Let me know if you’ve read any of these books!  Continue reading
