June 2018 Wrap Up + Mini Book Haul

Hello, friends! How are you doing? — Today’s post is my Wrap Up post for June. We’re already 6 months into the year! The older I get, the faster time flies past me.

My TBR for June was actually only 3 books. These books were Sea of Change by Kelley Armstrong, Graceling by Kristin Cashore, and Eve by Anna Carey.

The first week of June, I actually participated in a readathon, dubbed #goatathon, over on tumblr! Three of the four books that I had planned on reading during the Goatathon were the books I marked as my June TBR! So that worked hand-in-hand for me.

Torn is the second book in the Trylle trilogy by Amanda Hocking

Having read Switched last year, I’ve actually forgotten quite a bit of what happened. When I started reading Torn, I couldn’t remember much. I’ve got to say off-handedly, that I’m very happy that there wasn’t a recap of what had happened in the last book, Switched. However, with how quickly you could read these books I have no doubt that you could read the Trylle trilogy within one day, if you really wanted to. 

Book UnHaul #2

Whoops! This Unhaul is so old! I’ve gotten rid of these books for sure now.

I’ve read these books, and have kept them on my shelves for a while now; sometimes years at a time. However, I don’t think I’m ever going to re-read them. If I do end up re-reading these books, it will have been via my borrowing the book from the library, or I’d have bought the book in e-format. So the only pliable option is to get rid of them. Yay for shelf space!

September 2017 Wrap Up

My TBR this September contained 5 books. I usually have a max of 3 books a month, since that seems to be the amount of books that I can handle. However, I got stressed and amped the books up from the usual 3 books to 5 books. Especially with reading library books, and just being busy with life in general.

The books that I had on my TBR this month (from left to right) were: I See You by Clare Mackintosh, Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody, The Beast is an Animal by Peternelle van Arsdale, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke, Spider’s Bite by Jennifer Estep.

Of the 5 books I had on my TBR this month, I only managed to read 2 of them; The Daughter of the Burning City, and, Spider’s Bite. However, I did start reading I See You — but I See You is so incredibly detailed (and I’m only 10 pages in) that the book is slower than I thought it would be.

Switched is the first book in the Trylle trilogy by Amanda Hocking. Switched is the first book I read of Hockings’ writings, and I found that her writing was incredibly easy to read. While the book story wasn’t too over the top, the writing and pacing of the book was great and very enjoyable. The detailing of the writing was great in my opinion as well: not too over the top, but not all plane-jane, either.

Switched was actually on my TBR Tuesday #37th post. What I had hoped for this novel was something entirely different from what I got. What I hoped Switched would be about, or rather, what I hoped would happen was:

August 2017 Wrap Up

Hello everyone! Today’s post is that of my August 2017 wrap-up. How has your August been? — It’s incredibly hard for me to believe that August has already come and pass. That tomorrow is September.

It’s always hard for me to finish my monthly TBR lists. I usually have at least 6 or 7 books planned out that I want to read. With having only 2 or 3 books on my monthly TBR now, I’ve found that it is much more manageable for me to accomplish the list I’ve made.

My TBR of this month had 3 books on it. The TBR books were: Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson. Then there was Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking, and finally, You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner. I managed to read all of this months’ TBR! This is the first (or second, I can’t really remember) time I’ve managed to read what was on my monthly TBR!

TBR Tuesday #37; Monster Girls & Scientific Immortality

Hello reader/s! For a while now, I’ve been writing a bi-weekly post about books that are on
my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.
