June 2018 Wrap Up + Mini Book Haul

IMG_6230Hello, friends! How are you doing? — Today’s post is my Wrap Up post for June. We’re already 6 months into the year! The older I get, the faster time flies past me.

My TBR for June was actually only 3 books. These books were Sea of Change by Kelley Armstrong, Graceling by Kristin Cashore, and Eve by Anna Carey.

The first week of June, I actually participated in a readathon, dubbed #goatathon, over on tumblr! Three of the four books that I had planned on reading during the Goatathon were the books I marked as my June TBR! So that worked hand-in-hand for me. Continue reading

State of the ARC #5 | June ’18

State-of-the-ARC

State of the ARC Meme

State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs(Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.

My goal for my June ARC’s post was to be able to say that I finished reading all the “current titles” I had. There were five titles to work through. Three of the ARCs were Fantasy, and the last two are be Mysteries. Continue reading

(DNF & Spoilers) Alive by Scott Sigler | {ARC} Book Review #369

Thank you to Del Rey, a Random House Publishing Group, via Netgalley for giving me an Advanced Reader Copy of Alive by Scott Sigler in exchange for an honest review.

Trigger Warning:
Violence, Blood, Murder, Stalking

23199759A teenage girl awakens to find herself trapped in a coffin. She has no idea who she is, where she is, or how she got there. Fighting her way free brings little relief—she discovers only a room lined with caskets and a handful of equally mystified survivors. Beyond their room lies a corridor filled with bones and dust, but no people . . . and no answers.

She knows only one thing about herself—her name, M. Savage, which was engraved on the foot of her coffin—yet she finds herself in charge. She is not the biggest among them, or the boldest, but for some reason the others trust her. Now, if they’re to have any chance, she must get them to trust each other.

Whatever the truth is, she is determined to find it and confront it. If she has to lead, she will make sure they survive. Maybe there’s a way out, a rational explanation, and a fighting chance against the dangers to come. Or maybe a reality they cannot comprehend lies just beyond the next turn.

Publication Date: July 14 2015.

There are spoilers in this review.
I DNF’d Alive at 82%.

What interested me in Alive the first time I came across this novel was the cover. I didn’t think too much of it and then I requested the book. I requested Alive back in ’15 when I first signed up for Netgalley and went a little over board with all the books I had requested. Continue reading

Library Reads #18

libraryrreads

Library Reads: I’m a Library Lover, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from libraries. I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

Hello lovelies! Today’s post, as you can see, is a post about the books I’ve gotten recently from a few libraries that I visit semi-regularly. I’m so happy! There were two books that I had requested a few months back, and now I finally have them! Onto the books! Continue reading
