December 2017 Wrap Up & Book Haul

Hello, and Happy New Year! I hope your celebrations went well, and that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.

Onto the December 2018 Wrap-Up! — I didn’t have a TBR for this month, because I knew that with Chirstmas this last month, things and life in general would be incredibly hectic. Yet I managed to read 10 books! Considering it was the busy hustle-and-bustle of the Holidays and Celebrations were to be had, I did pretty well with my readings!

I bought a LOT of books in December. I only received one, which I’m not at all complaining about. I’ve read the book, and I honestly, genuinely enjoyed it. I know I’m going to re-read it this 2018 (hopefully).

September 2017 Publishings

ucbrpicToday’s post is about the books I’m looking forward to reading that are going to be published in September.

I seriously can’t believe how fast time has flown this year. I know I say that in every monthly post, but seriously. It feels like April was only yesterday. We’re already nearing September. September, people!

So here are the books that I’m looking forward to reading, which are going to be published  in this fast approaching September! Continue reading

Books to Read on a Rainy Day

IMG_5572I don’t know about where you live, but where I live, the weather in Spring tends to either be wet and rainy, sunny and chilly, or be both at the same time. It could rain for 3 days straight, and then sunny for the next week and we won’t see a drop of rain. The weather here in Vancouver and Greater Vancouver Area, is very unpredictable. In fact, the only predictable thing about Vancouver is the unpredictable Spring weather.

I usually know when spring is here when there’s a huge and fast thunder storm that blows by. There will be hail, and extreme winds, followed by the rumble of thunder that rattles the house. Sometimes there will be lightning as well. The whole shebang. —-However, all of these books that I’ve listed are books that I could read over and over again.

Here are a few of the many books I’ve read that I could read over and over again, yet would be perfect for rainy, and/or stormy weather. Continue reading

Books that I’m Looking Forward to this Winter 2017 | Part 2

Hello all! So if you can’t tell by now, or if you’re just tuning in, I really like talking about books that haven’t been published yet. I usually post these posts a few days before the end of the month I’m talking about. For example, in this post I’ll be talking about the books that I’m looking forward to in January 2017, but I’ll be posting this a few days before January arrives.

So as you’ve already read, I’ll be talking about the books that will be officially published in January 2017. Compared to last months publishings, January has a ton more books to be ogled over. Continue reading

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken | Book Review #91

tumblr_o3wdtop4DK1s4rzugo2_1280

Passage, n.
i. A brief section of music composed of a series of notes and flourishes.
ii. A journey by water; a voyage.
iii. The transition from one place to another, across space and time.

In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Thrust into an unfamiliar world by a stranger with a dangerous agenda, Etta is certain of only one thing: she has traveled not just miles but years from home. And she’s inherited a legacy she knows nothing about from a family whose existence she’s never heard of. Until now.

Nicholas Carter is content with his life at sea, free from the Ironwoods—a powerful family in the colonies—and the servitude he’s known at their hands. But with the arrival of an unusual passenger on his ship comes the insistent pull of the past that he can’t escape and the family that won’t let him go so easily. Now the Ironwoods are searching for a stolen object of untold value, one they believe only Etta, Nicholas’ passenger, can find. In order to protect her, he must ensure she brings it back to them— whether she wants to or not.

Together, Etta and Nicholas embark on a perilous journey across centuries and continents, piecing together clues left behind by the traveler who will do anything to keep the object out of the Ironwoods’ grasp. But as they get closer to the truth of their search, and the deadly game the Ironwoods are playing, treacherous forces threaten to separate Etta not only from Nicholas but from her path home . . . forever”

Passenger is nothing to as what I’d expected, and I enjoyed reading it. Passenger is raw and honest. One of the characters is dealing with how to save her loved ones, and another character deals with a lot of racism. Two very different characters who’ve managed to avoid time and fall in-love with one another.  Continue reading

Worst Love Interests | Top 5 Wednesday #4

t5wpic

Hello bookworms! I hope this week has treated you well so far. Today’s post is about Worst Love Interests (male or female). I know that a lot of people will have different opinions about love interests for their beloved characters. That’s totally okay! It’s really good that we all have these differing opinions, as long as we all respect these opinions we have.

So to avoid me spoiling anything for you, please avoid reading this post if you haven’t read the books I’m going to be talking about. The said books are: Confess by Colleen Hoover, The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken, The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black, If I Stay by Gayle Forman, and The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.

If you’ve read these books, then continue on ahead! I just don’t want to spoil anything for you.  Continue reading

Where did the time go this January? I swear time both froze and sped up. I don’t know what to say actually!! A lot has happened this month. Shadow Hunters aired on TV. Christmas Gift Book Haul of 2015 | Book Haul #2

Wow! This post is super late. I finally got all the books though, that I got for Christmas. I waited a while because I didn’t know what to do with some money that I got. I thought to myself, should I get a hair cut? Should I pay a bill? Should I just buy books? ‘Cause its Christmas money, you know? When I’m given money either on my birthday, or for Christmas I think to myself (I won’t break out into song, I swear!), should I be responsible with this money, or should I treat myself? I always end up treating myself. I figure that they wouldn’t give me this money in the first place if they wanted to pay my bills, so, TREATING MYSELF IT IS! In the picture below are the physical copies of books I received on Christmas, with the e-books I got on my Kobo; which aren’t pictured, below! So here are the books I got this Christmas:
