22129345FIGHTING THE BLIGHT

After the near disaster with Bishamon, Yato takes Yukine and retreats. Hiyori finds Yato in bad shape as his blight reaches a critical level. Yukine continues to torture his master with his bad behavior, causing the blight to worsen and even threaten the god’s life. Hiyori tries to desperately find someone to help Yato. Can any of Yato’s few friends save him? Does the stray god even have friends?

It was interesting, seeing another God introduced to the story. Being that they’re so violent towards Yato.

Overall this third volume has been the most serious one. This volume sticks out the most to me since the anime episodes for this volume were pretty intense!

The bonus manga were quite funny, actually. I don’t usually like reading any “extras” yet I flipped through the few extra pages at the end of the volume and had to laugh at a few of the extra comics.

I give this 3rd volume 3 stars.

Happy Reading!

20890541FORTUNE BE WITH YOU

A run-in with Yato the stray god has turned Hiyori Iki, an ordinary, pro-wrestling-loving middle school girl, into an existence that is neither human nor ayakashi! It’s up to Yato’s “divine intervention” to turn Hiyori back to normal, but can Hiyori rely on the spontaneous and wayward Yato to do his job properly? What’s more, the almighty warrior god Bishamonten has sworn revenge on Yato?!

I liked seeing these characters again after so long. I haven’t watched the anime in forever, and it’s been a while since I talked about the first volume. I’m glad that I borrowed the first few volumes from the library!

The little Ayakashi that Yato picked up is so freaking cute, omg. little harmless monsters are the best.

It was good seeing a few things here and there in the manga that weren’t there in the anime. Just like Yato I too think when Yukine does bad stuff that Yukine’s a lil’ shit.

the story was fast but since ive seen the two seasons of Hiyori, Yukine, and Yato’s story in the anime version, this second volume feels sluggish.

I give 3 stars to Noragami: Stray God Volume 2.

Happy Reading!

Library Reads #35

libraryrreadsLibrary Reads: I’m a huge fan of Libraries. I tend to visit the library quite a bit, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from the library of my hometown, or one of a few libraries that I go to.
I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little bit of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

These are the books borrowed within the first 2 weeks of Feburary 2018.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know!

I said that I wouldn’t go to the library to myself, since I have quite a bit of books I want to read first. Alas, I went to return a few books I previously had, and came home with quite a bit… Continue reading

October 2017 Wrap Up + Book Haul

Hello! Today’s post is my October 2017 Wrap Up + Book Haul!

IMG_5873October is one of the busier months for me personally. It’s busy because here in Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving on (or around) the 12th of October. Then it’s my birthday on the 25th (Two more years until my champagne birthday! Not that I’m going to drink, haha). After that, it’s Halloween!

In October I had 7 books on my TBR this month. Seven books is completely over ambitious for me, since I never really end up reading what I want to read. The books that were on my TBR this month were: The Ocean at the End of the Lane, by Neil Gaiman; Milk and Honey, by Rupi Kaur; Midnight at the Electric by Jodi Lynn Anderson; Shutter, by Courtney Alameda; Evil Librarian, by Michelle Knudsen; Labyrinth Lost, by Zoraida Córdova; and finally, The Madman’s Daughter, by Megan Shepherd. Noragami Vol. 1 by, Adachitoka | Manga Book Review #01

mrr

Hello everyone! Today’s post is the first of many! I’m now posting my short reviews on the Manga’s that I read and what I thought of them. I will try to post these once a week, on Thursday’s. I hope you enjoy! — Adele

17835727Yato is a stray god. He doesn’t even have a shrine, not to mention worshipers! Hoping he’ll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams, Yato accepts all kinds of jobs. Of course, he can’t afford to be picky; from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies, no job is too small for Yato, the god-for-hire! An eccentric story with a charming cast of characters!

When I was first introduced to the Noragami: Stray God series, I watched it as an Anime. I enjoyed the anime so much that I consider Noragami: Stray Gods to be one of my favourite animes. Continue reading

September 2017 Wrap Up

unnamed

My TBR this September contained 5 books. I usually have a max of 3 books a month, since that seems to be the amount of books that I can handle. However, I got stressed and amped the books up from the usual 3 books to 5 books. Especially with reading library books, and just being busy with life in general.

The books that I had on my TBR this month (from left to right) were: I See You by Clare Mackintosh, Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody, The Beast is an Animal by Peternelle van Arsdale, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke, Spider’s Bite by Jennifer Estep.

Of the 5 books I had on my TBR this month, I only managed to read 2 of them; The Daughter of the Burning City, and, Spider’s Bite. However, I did start reading I See You — but I See You is so incredibly detailed (and I’m only 10 pages in) that the book is slower than I thought it would be.

The Books I read this September (15):
