Genre Book Tag

genreI saw that Lizbie did this tag and thought it was interesting, so I thought I’d do it myself. Don’t forget to check out Lizbie’s answers!

How this tag works is that there is a set of questions and we answer them. We don’t have to make up any questions, yay!

Onto the tag!

1- What is your favourite genre?

My favourite genre is fantasy. I love the worlds that people can create, or even retellings of previous stories. Examples like Beauty and the Beast retellings, or Cinderella retellings. I’ve even read a Nutcracker retelling that was pretty good!

Honestly though, I love that with Fantasy stories, whether they’re High Fantasy, Urban Fantasy or something in-between, the fact that I can escape into the book is what I love and enjoy most about the Fantasy genre.

2- Who is your favourite author from that genre?  Continue reading

Autumn Activities Book Tag

BLEHHHHHHello friends! Today I have the Autumn Activities Book Tag for you all! I am pretty excited about this tag, since I made a new banner / separator-thingy-mabob.

I’ve been looking for a while — I mean, I started looking for Autumnal/Fall tags and anything autumn book related since the middle of August. Thank you, Popular Craft Store for putting out your Halloween decorations out in July.. Anyway! Since I consider summer over once September is upon is, I prepared this lovely tag for today!

I found this tag over on Beth’s blog Reading Every Night, I’d appreciate it so much if you were to go over there and show Beth some love! I only changed a bit of the title, which in her post is called the “Fall Activities Book Tag” and of course, our answers are different.

Let’s get into the tag; I hope you enjoy it! Continue reading

Life In Books| Tag

mylifeinbooks

I found this Life In Books tag over at Jamsu’s blog Jamsudreams, so go check out her answers!

I like the questions so I thought, “Hey why not.” So here we are!

1. Find a book for each of your initials

All the Wicked Girls by Chris Whitaker

Carnival of Secrets by Marissa Meyer

Copycat by Hannah Jayne

2. Count your age along your bookshelf — what book is it?

The 23rd book on my shelf is All the Rage by Courtney Summers.

3. A book set in your city/country

I rarely read books that are set in Vancouver, Canada. I’ve never actually come across a book set in my hometown, so Vancouver it is! Love is Love by Mette Bach is set in Vancouver and my friends, my heart became all warm and fuzzy once I realized that Love is Love takes place here.

4. A book that represents a destination you’d love to travel to

5. A book that’s your favourite colour

I have so many favourite colours! So many! But I guess I have a THING for Gold + colours on books, hahahaha.

6. Which book do you have fondest memories of?

The book I have the fondest memories of is A Court of Mist and Fury as well as A Court of Wings and Ruin. I remember reading one of those books from start to finish, no breaks save for the bathroom and snacks. It took me 10 hours to read one book. My legs went numb, and I legitimately had a few headaches from reading for so long, ahaha. It was worth it though!

7. Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?

I have the most difficulty reading All the Rage to be honest with you. I’ve tried to read that book a few times. I always end up crying and stopping.

8. Which book in your TBR pile will give you the biggest accomplishment when you finish it?

To be honest, any book over 500 pages is now an accomplishment. Seriously. So I guess that means that Dreams of Gods and Monsters, which is 613 pages in hardcover, will be my biggest accomplishment.

That’s it for the questions! I hope you enjoyed, and if you end up doing this tag, I’d love to see your answers!

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Reading!

My Blog’s Name in Books | Tag

Hello everyone! Recently I came across Tesiselity’s post where she her version of the tag, so check out her post too! I thought it would be fun and interesting to do this tag as well!

The challenge for me is that my blog’s name is sort of long, with repeating letters.. So while I typed this I had no idea of any titles that I wanted to use. I had no idea what I was going to put down..my name in booksRules:
• Spell out your blog’s name.
• Find a book from your TBR that begins with each letter.
NOTE: You cannot ADD to your TBR to complete this challenge – the books must already be on your Goodreads TBR. Don’t cheat my friends!!!!!

Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberly

Darkness Becomes Her (Gods and Monsters, #1) by Kelly Keaton

Era of Undying by Emilie Knight

Labyrinth Lost (Brooklyn Brujas, #1) by Zoraida Córdova

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5) by Sarah J. Maas

Inhuman (Fetch, #1) by Kat Falls

September Girls by Bennet Madison

Rage (Stormheart,#2) by Cora Carmack

Empress of all Seasons by Jean Emiko

Ashes to Ashes (Experiment in Terror, #8) by Karina Halle

Dreamfall by Amy Plum

I Do Not Trust You by Laura J. Burns

Nightfall by Jake Halpern

Gilt Hollow by Lorie Langdon

This was easier than expected, but still slightly challenging.

I did this little challenge on a whim and had fun with it. Not only am I listing some books that are still on my TBR, but I also found handfuls of books I still want to read! It’s a win-win for everyone!

FUN FACT!: I did this tag first in books I’ve already read. If you’re interested in that, I can do another one with book’s I’ve read!

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my post!

Happy Reading!

The Book Blogger Insider Tag

Screen Shot 2018-06-30 at 2.34.06 PM

Hello, friends! How are you doing? At the moment I’m fine, as I’m typing this it’s a humid day, so it’s the perfect atmosphere to do a tag! Enjoy!

I saw that the lovely Sophia Lin, over at Bookwyrming Thoughts did this tag. I liked the questions as well as her answers. If you have the time I definitely suggest you check out her post!

OK so I have no idea if any of you readers are interested in what happens behind the scenes of my blog. I can assure you though, it’s nothing special, ahaha.

Where do you typically write your blog posts?

Before my laptop crapped out, I write them on my bed. Now I write them at my desk on my big computer. I can get more stuff done this way, to be honest. Though I do get lost in the internet often.

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?

Hmmm. Depending on what I thought of the book it can take anywhere from an hour…to at most 2 days. I like to read the book, review it, and then move on to another book.

When did you start your book blog?

The Sunshine Blogger Award

sba2

Uwaaaah!!! Thank you so much, Allie @ Hexen Librarian for tagging me! It’s a rare day when I get nominated. Thank you, again!

RULES

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you by linking their blog
  2. Answer the questions
  3. Nominate 11 blogs with 11 questions
  4. List the rules as well as display the Sunshine Award Logo on your post

Allie’s questions:

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging (originally on tumblr) because I fell in-love with books pretty quickly, after having avoiding them for 6+ years. I started blogging here on WordPress because honestly, my memory is crap and I wanted to be able to remember what I thought about the books I read. So in a way, my reviews are little diary/journal posts telling the future me what I thought of said book.

What’s your favorite movie genre?

My favourite movie genre is Action and Adventure. I get such a high from watching an action movie to be honest! Haha. Hmm. I also really like watching Sci-Fi/ Fantasy movies as well!

Anime or manga?

I definitely enjoy Anime a lot. There’s just…more to an anime, than there is to a manga. Don’t get me wrong though, I still enjoy manga. I just prefer watching anime.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job would something that I could do at home away from the general public. Where I could do work but still be in comfortable clothing.

What’s your favorite place to read?

My favourite place to read is definitely in my room.

Does you local library have a summer reading program? Do you still participate?

The local library does have a summer reading program! I haven’t participated since I was about…..12? Maybe a little older than that. I just know I haven’t participated in a reading program for the last 5 years for sure.

What’s the longest book you’ve ever read? Was it worth it?

The longest book I have ever read…. I believe, would be City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. I genuinely don’t know if it was worth it or not, since I put that series out of my mind.

Twitter or Instagram?

I like the convenience of Twitter, but the aesthetics on instagram. But I’m going to have to say that I like Twitter more. Precisely because with Twitter, I don’t feel like I have to catch up with everyone, like I feel like I have to on Instagram.

Favorite animal?

I want to say that I don’t have a favourite animal…. As a kid though, I loved Tigers. And these days I prefer cats.

What’s your least favorite color?

My least favourite colour is white. I’m saying this because most of the sites I use have white backgrounds and being on the computer for hours at a time, white really hurts my eyes! Haha. (And yes, I have turned down the brightness on my computer, turned on lights in my room…everything. White hurts my eyes, ahah.)

Tell me something nice that happened to you recently.

Something that happened to me recently… I made plans with my cousin to watch anime this week!

Nominations: You! If you’re reading this, and you want to be nominated…Then this is me nominating you, friend!

My Questions are:

  1. Do you eat or drink anything while you read?
  2. What genre of books do you least like? Why?
  3. Do you have a favourite book?
  4. What’s your opinion on books being turned into movies/TV shows?
  5. Do you listen to music, or have background noise when you read?
  6. What is your least favourite thing about blogging?
  7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
  8. Do you stay up late to read, or do you wake up early to read?
  9. What’re your thoughts on over-hyped books?
  10. If you could live in a book/story, what book/story would that be?
  11. What do you hate getting asked a lot? (Anything goes!)

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out this post!
I hope you have a lovely day!

The Rainbow Book Tag

Hello mi amigos! Today’s post is going to be the Rainbow Book Tag. I came across this book tag from Kelly | Another Book in the Wall. I haven’t done a book tag in a long time, so I’m actually pretty excited to do tag. Let’s get down to things!

The Rules:

  • Thank the lovely person that tagged you!
  • It must be the dominant color of the cover, not the spine!
  • It has to be a book you own or the exact copy that you read. (Ex: There are two copies of The Hate U Give, choose the cover of the copy you read)
  • If you do not own a book of the certain cover, choose one that has the color somewhere on it.
  • Tag some people do it! Whether they are bloggers, bookstagrammers, or booktubers. Spread the love!
  • Make it a game or do the tag as originally intended.

If you want to know more about the book, all you have to do is click the books’ cover. You’ll then be taken to the books’ GoodReads page. — Enjoy!

Red
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

‘One of Lux’s hands had found mine, and even though he was mouthing No, his grip gave me the strength to meet the lady’s eyes and whisper, “Even so, I will keep my vow. Where he dies, I will die. And there will I be buried.”
And with a burst of song, the sparrow landed on my wrist.
A handful of kindness, it said to the Kindly Ones. The answer to your riddle.

Fall Time, Cozy Time | Book Tag

IMG_5940 copyAutumn/Fall; whichever you prefer, is my favourite season. I was born in Autumn, and Autumn will remain my favourite. The main reason why I like Autumn the most is because I feel like I can finally stretch my body comfortably. I love the feeling of the cold wrap around my body, I am home. I am home during the cooler months.

I found this tag via Lindsey @paradisbooks. I haven’t actually done a tag in a while, so this should be exciting! For me anyway, haha.

The Pastry Book Tag

I just want to do a quick thank-you to whoever created this Pastry Book Tag. I don’t know who you are, but Kudos to you!

Hello all! Today is a Book Tag. I feel like I haven’t done one of these in a while, even though I did one just last month. Pastries are always a come and go for me, since I can’t really have sweets anymore [if you’re wondering why I can’t have sweets, it’s because the sweets sometimes leave a burning sensation in the back of my throat]. Aside from that, there are quite a few pastries that are very cool looking. Lets get on with the tag, shall we?

Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) loves. Continue reading
