Dragon Hunted, by Alexis Pierce | Book Review

Hello and welcome to Adele Is Reading!

Today on the blog, I have my book review of:

Dragon Hunted, by Alexis Pierce.

Dragon Hunted is the second book in the Draecus Clan series.

Trigger Warnings: Depression, mention of Abusive Parents, Anxiety / Panic Attacks, Murder, Attempted Murder.

THIS BOOK IS PART OF A SERIES. DESCRIPTION CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BOOK 1.

Serenity has been kidnapped.

After the rebels broke into the castle, her world fell apart.
Her dragons are determined to get her back, but there are dangers untold and secrets that could destroy everything.
Serenity must find the strength to fight this new darkness, or this new family she’s found could be gone forever.

Dragon Hunted is a Reverse Harem paranormal romance.

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

Dragon Hunted is quite the sequel. Not that I wanted to expect much from this second book, but I didn’t expect something…

And I totally got it!! Hehehe.

In actuality there’s quite a bit that happens in Dragon Hunted. From realizing who betrays the crown, to finding out just who are the true allies. So there’s some plot building going on in Dragon Hunted.

One thing that I found to be incredibly exctiting was that we get to know some of Serenity’s true form!!! And how utterly badass it is. Spoiler!: Partially shifted with horns and purple electricity coming from her. Reading Serenity’s shifting abilities was just… stunning.

Something else that I enjoyed learning about the characters of this novel was that there are bisexual characters!! These characters do have their own points of view, and I greatly appreciate that. A lot of authors tend to gloss over bisexual and even homosexual romance(s) so the fact that Pierce chose to give these characters their own view… outstanding. Thank you.

Overall I genuinely enjoyed reading Dragon Hunted. I was actually so excited to get to the next book that I read it straight away after finishing Dragon Hunted.

I gave Dragon Hunted, 4 stars.

Have you read a dragon-shifter novel?

Thank you for stopping by!

See you soon, and happy reading.
