The Fury Queen’s Harem, by Meg Xuimei X. | Book Review

Hello and Welcome to Adele Is Reading.

Today on the blog, I have my book review of:

The Fury Queen’s Harem, by Meg Xuimei X..

The Fury Queen’s Harem is the first in the The Cursed Dragon Queen and Her Mates series.

Trigger Warnings: Sex Scenes, Stabbing, Fighting, Beheading, Death, War, mentions of Enslavement, and Blood.

One hybrid Fury queen. Three pure-blood Dragon Princes. A reverse harem with a dark fairy tale twist and an epic flair!

My name is Daisy. I’ve been cursed to serve a bad-tempered elemental in my beastly form for centuries.

There’s only one way to lift the curse: a kiss from three true loves. To garner even one is nearly impossible. How am I going to get three?

Then three gorgeous-as-sin, yet clueless dragon princes stumble into my lair. Only they do not come to kiss me. They come to slay me without knowing who I really am. Unless they cut the three heads of the Furies–my heads–or make the Fury Queen fall in love with them, they’ll never shift back to dragons.

Not surprisingly, the princes all choose what they think is the easiest–to behead the beasts.

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

The Fury Queen’s Harem is quite intriguing indeed. First off, it’s not a wolf-shifter book which I’ve been obsessed with lately. But it IS still a shifter-novel. Dragon shifter, and Fae, to be exact. There are other supernatural species involved in this book, like vampires, demons, and sentient plants who guard their jungle.

The Fury Queen’s Harem is high-fantasy for sure, and I’m really glad that I didn’t end up finishing this book as fast as I do others.

I for one, like that Daisy is older than 3 of her mates. Usually it’s the males who are older.. So I genuinely like that she’s the older one in her situation.

I know for a fact that her grandfather is going to be a bad guy, and that we WILL find out more about Daisy’s mother’s side. I think it’s her maternal grandmother who set the curse onto Daisy.

I can already feel that we Daisy gets back to her… first world(?) that Daisy going to have a hard time of things, especially with the way that technology has advanced. She’s going to have an especially hard time with the kingdom, and how (I believe) that her grandfather is going to have an extremely difficult time “reclaiming” Daisy. He’s probably going to pull some bullshit and say something like “this woman is no granddaughter of mine!!”

Anyway, I ended up giving The Fury Queen’s Harem, 4 stars.
