Daughters of Souls & Silence, by Annie Anderson | Book Review

Hello, and welcome back to Adele Is Reading.
Today on the blog I have my book review of:

Daughters of Souls & Silence, by Annie Anderson.

Daughters of Souls & Silence is the second book in the Rogue Ethereal series.

Trigger / Content Warnings: Blood, Gore, Explosions, Fires.

Please note that I’m quite sure that I missed a few possible triggers.

A Council full of Ethereal Elders wants me dead. Yep, it’s a regular Tuesday.

When you kill a demon there are consequences.

Centuries-old witch, tattoo artist, half-demon… none of those titles are going to save me this time. The only way I’m going to get out of my death sentence is to take down the biggest, baddest demon there is… My father.

And I thought being burned at the stake was bad…

I started reading Daughters of Souls & Silence pretty much right after finishing Woman of Blood and Bone. After reading this book, I checked to see if there were any other books published, and to my surprise there were! I did not want to let this series go, I was enjoying it so much. Seeing that the entire series was already published gave me so much freaking happiness, I don’t think I slept much that night, haha.

The plot of Daughters of Souls & Silence moves so quickly. Like, hello whiplash, nice to see you again. Not that I’m actually complaining. In actuality DoS&S starts immediately after the previous ended, and I am here for it. I love when authors write their books as if no timed passed between the books — it makes for great binge-reading.

In my book review of the previous book (Woman of Blood & Bone), I thought that the series might have some reverse harem themes going on. Within this second book, I seriously felt like there were some multiple-partner vibes going on and I was living for it. Like, the only thing in my mind that could make this book, no, this series, better, was if there really were reverse harem elements to the story. Alas, that’s not the case.

That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy Daughters of Souls & Silence. I totally did. …Just not as much as I did with Woman of Blood and Bone. Nevertheless, I did end up reading the rest of the series!

I gave Daughters of Souls and Silence, 3 stars.

Have you read the Rogue Ethereal series?

Thank you for stopping by.

See you soon, and happy reading!
