Daughter of Hades, by Helen Scott | Book Review

Hello, and welcome back to Adele Is Reading.
Today on the blog, I have my book review of:

Daughter of Hades, by Helen Scott.

Daughter of Hades is the second book in the Cerberus series.

Trigger / Content Warnings: Blood, Fighting, Sex, Attempted Murder, Decapitation.

Please note that I may hove not captured all the possible triggers.

Poppy never thought her life would get this crazy.

Sexy hellhound guards and being the future queen of the Underworld? She had been happy being a waitress and a freelance graphic designer in Chicago, hadn’t she? What she was doesn’t matter, that life is long gone now.

Before she can travel to the Underworld, she needs to find three judges that will preside over the souls of the dead. But who are they? Where are they? And how the hell is she supposed to find them?

As she battles agents of Hel at every turn and is confronted with mysterious new enemy Poppy is decidedly on edge. Will she find her judges in time or will her enemies get to them first?

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

Daughter of Hades was quite the hoot, let me tell you.

So in this second Cerberus novel, we learn more about Poppy’s genetic-makeup. Which is very cool, by the way– I love learning about genes and how they work. Through in this book, the focus is more on who Poppy is a descendant of. We also get to see more of Poppy’s powers, so, that was also an unexpected bonus.

The fighting scenes seem more escalated, and that’s because they 100% are. With the last book to the trilogy being the next boo, the plot is going to start evolving faster.

I’m excited, yet sad, knowing that the last book is the next book. I’m not at all ready to let this world and the characters go.

As you might have guessed, I don’t truly know what to say in regard to Daughter of Hades. It’s a great addition to the trilogy, and I enjoyed every bit of it. …Like I enjoyed this book so much I can’t properly articulate what I want to say. Everything was just.. WAH so good.

With that said, I’m giving Daughter of Hades, 3 stars.

Have you read the Cerberus series?

Thank you for stopping by.

See you soon, and happy reading.
