Hello friends!! Welcome back to Adele is Reading.
Today I have my book review of:
Wolf Bonded, by Eden Black.
Wolf Bonded is the first book in the Wolfish series.
TW: Abuse, Abuse mention(s), Child Abuses, Drowning, Attempted Murder. — There may be more triggers that I may have missed in my reading of Wolf Banded.
A year on the run, and this is where it’s led me.
North Port, Washington—the last place you’d expect to run into a pack of wolf shifters.
Especially when up until now, I didn’t know they existed.
When I first arrive, Rory, Marlowe, and Kaleb are about as eager to tell me the truth of their nature as I am to call up my abusive father and let him know exactly where to find me. They have a reputation to uphold and me… I have a reputation to avoid. I need to stay hidden. I need to stay safe.
Or else he’ll find me, just as he always has.
But there’s a problem with that.
I’m not very good at staying hidden, and these boys… they’re not very good at keeping secrets.
Between the four of us, we’re bound to run into chaos. Just like we’re bound in other ways.
Wolf Bonded is a full-length romance novel with multiple love interests. It’s the first book in the Wolfish trilogy, a paranormal series where the main character has no intent to choose just one of the sexy werewolves who’ve fallen head-over-heels for her—whether they like it or not.
From GoodReads [x]:
“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE
Admittedly I didn’t write much in my notes for my review of Wolf Bonded…
For some reason the story was slow to build, though Wolf Bonded is an absolutely all consuming book. To be honest with you, you couldn’t have stopped me from reading Wolf Bonded if you gave me the world. I’d have rather been caught up in Wolf Bonded. Of course, when there are slow moments in a novel, there has to be parts in the story where everything is speeding up and may be happening too quickly.
Wolf Bonded for a tad angsty and I didn’t know how to take that in. I’m generally pro-angst in stories. Like, gimme allll the angst, ok? The angst in Wolf Bonded however…I wasn’t feeling it.
SPOILER ALERT!: I really didn’t like Tom, and what he did is inexcusable. I just know that Tom’s going to be a problem in book 2.
I ended up giving Wolf Bonded, 2 stars. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it. 2 stars just feels like my rating for the story.
If I ever read book 2 of the Wolfish series, I hope to remember to write more notes!
Thank you for your time! Happy Reading!
