Hello friends, and welcome back! Today I’m posting my book review of

Shadow Touched, by Harper Wylde.

Shadow Touched is the first in The Veil Keeper series.

Turns out, things aren’t always what they seem.

My magic has always been different from others of my kind—untamed. Something to hide, even in my own world, along with my monster-filled dreams and odd ‘episodes.’

When my entire life is turned upside down with a single drop of blood, the mysterious magick I’ve been trying to hide finally catches up to me.

Deserted and stranded on my own, four strangers offer me asylum and a place to call home. At least, for now.

With the help of Dason, Chayton, Axel, and Kota, I’m discovering the truth about myself as my past and my future collide. The world I grew up in was a lie, and now I’m learning how to use my magick, who my enemies are, and that the beasts stalking my sleep are actually real. And they’re my problem.

Surrounded by deadly threats, the guys and I navigate a world full of supernatural creatures, each with their own agendas, to gather the intel we need to defeat the darkness. Hopefully for good.

There’s danger in the shadows, but I’ll be dead before I let it win.

And I’m just getting started.

From GoodReads [x]:

“REVERSE HAREM” IS, LITERALLY, THE OPPOSITE OF “HAREM”, WITH A GROUP OF MALES CENTERING ROUND A SINGULAR FEMALE, USUALLY WITH THREE OR MORE MALES. QUITE OFTEN FOUND UNDER THE ROMANCE GENRE.

Before I managed to finish reading Shadow Touched, I had tried reading this book–allbeit very–briefly. And what I read didn’t interest me at all, unfortunately. However, the synopsis kept nagging and nagging at me. I decided that I had to try reading more than a few pages of Shadow Touched.

And boooooi, I’m glad that I did!

Shadow Touched is an extremely fast paced novel that I could not put down!!! And what made the story even more enticing is how much sexual tension there is between Lorn and the others.

There are different points of view in Shadow Touched. I found that all of the different view points were totally okay because the others’ view points were just….too good to pass up.

I liked that for the majority of Shadow Touched, it takes a little bit for everyone to grow somewhat accustomed to each other. Namely Lorn and each of the guys.

However, what has me wanting to read the sequel to Shadow Touched is what happened at the end of Shadow Touched. Nearing the end of Shadow Touched made a lot of sense when I finished reading this first part to Lorn’s story. While reading Lorn’s story, I would have never guessed that there’d be more! More what, you may be asking me? WELL FOR SPOILERS SAKE, I won’t be telling you. Muahahahaha.

I’m giving Shadow Touched, 3.5 stars.
