Hello friends! Welcome to today’s post where I’ll be doing somewhat of a series review of the last 4 books in the To Tame A Shifter series.
And yeah, the reason why I’m doing these reviews in one big (or small??) post is because I didn’t write down my thoughts on the instalments as I read them.
Here is the link to my review of Taming, the first book in the To Tame a Shifter series.
Claiming (To Tame a Shifter, #2)
I’m coming after Kreedence. I want him to know what it feels like to live in fear. Just as I did for so many years.
Three dragon shifters and a hellhound should be more than enough help. And yet, I’m seeking out allies in all the wrong places: a prince with resources, a deadly king with power, and a mysterious queen who died decades ago.
New secrets will come to light. They’ll destroy everything I thought I knew about myself and the world around me.
Our secrets will always haunt us.
Or hunt us.
This is a Reverse Harem series containing M/M themes. Recommended for readers 18 and over.
- ups and downs as MC realizes just how much she’s gone, and currently going through
- the sex scenes were fun to read
- i like that the guys have showed a bit more of themselves. Curious about the town Kain mentioned that he grew up in
- there were a few questions that I had by the end of Claiming, but they were answered in the next book, Maiming.
I gave Claiming, 3 stars.
Maiming (To Tame a Shifter, #3)
Nothing perfect ever lasts.
For the first time in my entire life, I’ve found a community that accepts me. The village of dragon shifters knows what it’s like to be different. These men care about me. And I care about them. I might even love them.
Among all that perfection, terror creeps in. It haunts this place during the night. Something dangerous, powerful, and deadly has found these innocent people.
And it wants me.

- Chaose and Kain both grew up here, which surprised me. I thought that Chaos would’ve grown up in a town a little farther aways than where Kain grew up.
- “Ten strong, assured men jump into the waves. While I sit watching the males like a nature exhibit.” LMAOOOO #tru
- the plot thickens!!
I gave Maiming, 3 stars.
Sustaining (To Tame a Shifter, #4)
There’s something just slightly more terrifying than dark magic.
And that’s going home.
The beautiful coastal village is too small and it’s impossible to hide when you’re a target. They know I’m different. They knew when I was a young girl and they know now. They’re just waiting for the proof. They’re all waiting for me to screw up like I always do.
What they don’t know is, I’m not staying. I’ll take my scowling shifters—hopefully before they literally rip into one of the many hateful villagers—and I’ll find the Solstice Queen.
I’ll find that mysteriously dangerous mage again if it’s the last thing I do.
This is book four in a Reverse Harem series containing M/M themes. Recommended for readers 18 and over.
sustaining was an alluring. especially to read and see what had happened in this second to last book. The plot of the story moved really well tbh.
I hate to say that the crazy bitch got her way, but the crazy bitch got her way. and the crazy bitch that I’m talking about is not, surprisingly, our main character.
I gave Sustaining, 3 stars.
Reigning (To Tame a Shifter, #5)
I’ve gotten myself into one last incident. One final mistake that may cost me everything, including my life.
By using dark, manipulating magic the Solstice Queen wants to reign over the two Kingdoms and give power back to mages once and for all. I’ll stand by her side. I’ll smile and wave and say all the right things.
All while turning the last remaining mages against her. Because when it all ends, the beloved Solstice Queen won’t walk away from the war she started.
Unless I die trying.

so good
a lot led up to the non-negotionalable fight, but I’m so so gald that everything worked out in the end.
I gave Reigning, 3 stars.
OVERALL,
The To Tame A Shifter series escalates in a great way. Always kept me wanting to read more, but you could end the series whenever you wanted to and it’d still be a good ending. So much fun reading the To Tame a Shifter series.
Have you read anything by A.K Koonce? What were your thoughts on what you read?
