Hello! Today I have the Guilty Reader Book Tag. I cannot remember where I first saw it, but I do know that I was tagged a few weeks ago by Alys @ Alys In Bookland. Check out their post to see what they’ve got to say!
I don’t think I really feel guilty about books, unless we’re talking about the books I’ve been gifted previously. I’m trying to stop that habit of mine–asking for books as presents. UNLESS they’re books I’ve read and loved.
I hope you enjoy!
Have you ever re-gifted a book you’ve been given?
No, I don’t think so! When I’ve been gifted books I tend to keep them for years until I figure that the gifter has forgotten that they gifted me the book. …When I eventually read said book(s), and I don’t like the book, then I’ll maybe donate it.
GUILT LEVEL: MEDIUM.
Have you ever said you’ve read a book when you haven’t?
The quick answer, yes. The longer answer: I rarely do this but when I do, I will say that I’ve read it, but I won’t talk about it. I’ve actually done this a few times, and I won’t mark it as read on GoodReads. I remove them from my GoodReads TBR.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?
I actually borrow books a lot from the library. So yes, haha. I’ve also borrowed books from family before and when I read them I immediately have to return them to their owner so I don’t obsess over giving the book back.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever read a series out of order?
I think I may have, but I don’t actually remember doing so.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever spoiled a book for someone?
Only when they’ve asked. Yet I know I have on this blog—-though I do say that “this post/review contains spoilers” blah blah blah.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever dog eared a book?
Yes, of course. I used to do so all the time when I was younger (think 9-12ish). And I sometimes dog-ear books from the library when I don’t have a bookmark handy.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever told someone you don’t own a book when you do?
BAHAHAHA–Yes. I’ve done this when I know that the person who has asked has returned my books in shit condition (think coffee stains). It was one of my favourite series so. Yes, I definitely have. Or sometimes I’ve genuinely forgotten that I’ve had said book.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever told someone you haven’t read a book when you have?
Ooof, yeah, I have. Especially when I see that this person is super excited about the book and they want to tell me about it. I’d rather see this person super super happy and explain what they liked, loved, and/or hated about the book they’re talking about. Especially since I told them that I’ve already read a book that they just read and physically see the excitement leave their eyes and body.
GUILT LEVEL: MEDIUM. (but really I don’t feel guilty about this at all)
Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?
HAHAHA, yes, of course. If a scene is boring to me I will skip it to get to a more interesting part. I’ve also skipped to the end of a novel because I wanted to know how the book ended. I 50/50% regret doing this because it was actually a huge spoiler and I don’t want to read the book now, but I also don’t want to give it away either..
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
Have you ever bad-mouthed a book you actually liked?
No, I don’t think so. Unless the book in question is a Problematic Book.
GUILT LEVEL: LOW.
That’s it for my answers to the Guilty Reader Book Tag! I found that I don’t really feel guilty about any of the answers to the questions that were asked. I try to be as honest as possible 24/7, since there’s really no use for me to lie about anything.
Are you interested in doing this tag? I’d love to see your answers!
Thank you for stopping by!
See you soon, and Happy Reading!
Adele
