Hello friends! Today I have my review of
Texting Prince Charming by Patty Carothers and Amy Brewer.

After a tragic accident leaves Shelby Ryan permanently injured, she gives up all hope in happily-ever-afters. Shelby puts on a brave face while hiding her pain, but once she returns to school, everything changes. She starts receiving anonymous corny messages from a mysterious Prince Charming, and her nemesis, basketball star and bad boy, Sebastian, shows sudden interest in her.
Hilarity ensues as Shelby tries to uncover Prince Charming’s real identity and come to terms with her true feelings for the last boy on Earth she ever thought she’d fall for: Sebastian Freaking Birch.
Will she be able to cope with the allure of the texting prince, or will Sebastian be the real-life prince in Shelby’s fairytale?
Release Date: May 29, 2018.
Isn’t the synopsis so cute?! Immediately I had to inquire about Texting Prince Charming. I am over-the-moon happy that I received this ARC because I can honestly say that Texting Prince Charming is now one of my favourite reads.
I came across Texting Prince Charming not too long ago. I was intrigued by the title and even more so when I read the synopsis for Texting Prince Charming…. Let me tell you that I was very excited for Shelby’s story.
Oh my gosh, what I thought would happen versus what actually happened in Texting Prince Charming are two different things. In fact, when I started reading Texting Prince Charming all of my predictions fell through– they didn’t happen. I’m tremendously glad that the plot was different than what I had expected it to be. This made the story just that more engrossing.
In actuality, there are quite a few things that managed to surprise me. I won’t go into details. I don’t want to spoil Texting Prince Charming for you, if you decide to read it.
I actually really enjoyed how slow Shelby was to know the true extent of Sebastian’s feelings towards her. The fact that it took Shelby so long to figure it out was both a just a bit infuriating (how can you be so oblivious, Shelby?!), yet cute overall.
Something else that I don’t see all that often in YA Romance is that Shelby and Sebastian actually talked about things that were important to them. Maybe I’m just reading the wrong novels… I’m just relieved that Sebastian and Shelby talked to each other about important topics once Shelby caught on towards Sebastian’s feelings.
Really the one and only thing that I’m slightly concerned about is how Shelby’s aunts house was broken into, and how there was a bit of attention focused on it.. Yet after that night in the story, it’s like it never happened. Especially more so since the people who broke in were definitely looking for Shelby, like 100%. And then nothing. That was so weird to me.
The relationship that Sebastian and Shelby have is completely adorable. I love them together and cannot imagine them with anyone else. I loved the slow burn romance (even though Bass has been in love with Shelby for quite some time now), and I adore how slow Shelby was to catch on to everything. Even though for months it was clear to everyone else. I’ve got to giggle at that.
Overall, I genuinely loved Shelby and Sebastian’s shenanigans. I’d love to read more of their story, if at all possible.
I give Texting Prince Charming, 5 stars.
