Hello friends! Today I’m reviewing 806 by Cynthia Weil. 806 was published back in March of 2018, but I only recently acquired 806.
**Disclaimer: I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This in no way impacted my review.**
Sibling 1 throws blenders and plays guitar. Sibling 2 is allergic to everything and is into magic. Sibling 3 is a varsity swimmer with a group of female fans. Enough said.
The only thing they have in common is their biological father, and the only thing they can agree on is that they all want to meet him.
With the help of a broken-down, “borrowed” Jeep, KT, Jesse, and Gabe make their way across the country evading police, trying their luck on the slots, and meeting a life-changing pig, all to track down Donor 806, their father. Any hope of success requires smarts, luck, and ingenuity. Good thing they have each other…even if they don’t see it that way.
Publication Date: March 23, 2018.
When I first read what 806 was about, I thought that the story could be interesting but I also thought that perhaps 806 just wasn’t for me.
To my surprise, I actually ended up truly enjoying reading 806. I laughed more than I thought I would, which was great. When I was at the doctors office not too long ago, I was actually asked if I was alright because I’d been laughing so much. I love when a story can made me laugh, and 806 made me laugh. So much.
The character growth that all these characters go through was great to read.
I’ve got to say that I wasn’t feeling the story in the beginning, just because of how KT was acting. So I loved getting to see KT’s growth and acceptance of her brothers.
The adventure that KT, Jesse and Gabe go on was a blast to read about. I loved reading the adventure that these 3 go on, to find their bio-dad. I would absolutely read their story again.
Another thing I enjoyed about 806 was that nearing the end there’s some unexpected romance. A romance that KT was denying for so long, so if there is ever another book related to 806, I hope that the story will focus on Katie and Dylan.
I ended up genuinely enjoying 806, which surprised me.
I give 806, 4 stars.
Have you read 806?
If you have, what’re your thoughts about the story?
Thank you for stopping by!
See you soon, and Happy Reading!
