Cover Reveal! — SALT FOR AIR, by M.C. Frank

Hello friends! Today’s post is a little different than the usual posts I post here on my blog. Today’s post is a cover reveal!

I recently found Salt for Air by M.C. Frank and can I just quickly say, how eagerly I am anticipating SoA‘s arrival? Because I am. I’m drawn to Salt for Air not only because the cover is genuinely eye catching and interesting, but the synopsis is quite intriguing as well! Also, who doesn’t want to read a mix of Greek Mythology and Mermaids?

Release Date: October 23, 2018.

My thoughts on the Official Video Cover Reveal for Salt for Air is that it was beautifully done. There’s just enough intrigue to wonder what’s supposed to happen, and the way that each part of the cover is revealed to us bit by but is awe inspiring and honestly makes my imagination go wild with all the possibilities. And the music that accompanies it…. the overall effects give me chills.

My thoughts on the cover:

  • The cover is, simply put, gorgeous. I love how everything just fits together.
  • I love how the person wearing the crown is holding her up in the water, maybe signalling that she’s done something that resulted in her life? Or maybe Ellie is just passed out and this Dude is helping her stay afloat to make sure she doesn’t drown.
  • I also really love looking at the sparkly’s around the cover. They could be stars, they could be salt flecks floating/drifting in the water.
  • The sentence at the top of the cover is kind of ominous as well. I hope that the story gets kind of dark… Not going to lie — “LET  NO ONE STEAL YOUR CROWN.” is a tad bit vengeance-y. Especially with the way that the Dude is keeping Ellie afloat. “Let no one steal your crown.” is also forbidding in a way that has me holding my breath in anticipation.

SYNOPSIS—-

Greek mythology meets The Little Mermaid in this delicious fantasy novel about a quiet, nerdy girl who meets a mer prince in her bathroom. Perfect for fans of The Heroes of Olympusand the Lux series.

Seventeen-year-old Ellie dreams of mermen. She writes fanfiction about them and spends time in underwater kingdoms in her imagination, trying to escape the sad reality: she is an orphan. And not only that, but she’s bullied every day at school -she’s a nerd, she hates sports, she loves books and she used to be overweight. What’s not to bully?

One day, the bullies go too far. They try to drown her, but at the last minute an otherworldly creature shows up in the water. He keeps her breathing and tells her to live: “How will you be able to save anyone if you can’t even save yourself?”

She thinks it was a dream, but the emerald-eyed merman boy who rescued her appears in her school the next day. Is he really the exiled prince of an ancient kingdom that’s on the brink of utter destruction? And is he asking her to save him? Or is something far more sinister and deadly lurking in the water that surrounds her little Greek town?

When myth and reality collide, can love save their lives?

Overall I’m actually genuinely super excited about Salt for Air. I think that if there’s romance, that it’ll be a slow-burn romance, and maybe it will be a forbidden romance as well.

Aside from that though, I know just from the synopsis and from reading the first 5 chapters, that Salt for Air will be dealing with some pretty serious issues, like how the main character, Ellie gets bullied at school, and the bullies last attempt was to kill Ellie.

Then the story really begins..

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Reading!
