Books I Hope to Read Soon | Part 1/?

Hello there, friend! I thought I’d try a new kind of post today, where I talk about the books that I want to try reading soon.

I’ve had these books on my mind for a while, so I’m happy to be able to talk about them. I always say that I’m going to read a book, and the I ultimately end up not reading the book because I’ve either forgot that it exists, OR other books take my attention.

The first on the list is:

I first heard of Before She Ignites very, very briefly both on Tumblr and on Instagram. I thus forgot about it, but then heard about it again because OwlCrate had featured Before She Ignites as one of their books of the month a few months back. Suddenly it was everywhere and no one could get enough of it. So I’m particularly interested in Before She Ignites because of the mentioning of Dragons. [Here There Be (Books About) Dragons! | TBR]

  • Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicles, #1) by Jay Kristoff

Another book on my mind lately is actually a book that I’m currently reading, but have taken a break from: Nevernight. I started this book back in May when I went on a little trip. I actually borrowed the audio book from the library, and listed to about 2 hours worth of the story. That same night I read and caught up to where I was in the audiobook. I’ve since returned the audiobook, but I will be taking it out again when I’ve finished reading Nevernight. I’m about 20% into the story, and hopefully I can manage to finish it!

  • Lullaby (The Sand Maiden Book 1) by L. R. W. Lee

I actually don’t know too much about this book since I only read bits and pieces of Lullaby’s synopsis. I haven’t really heard it been talked about anywhere, and I actually only found it on Amazon in February.. What specifically drew me to Lullaby, was the cover art, which was drawn by Charlie Bowater! Bowater is honestly one of my favourite artists. However! What drew me into buying a copy was part of the synopsis! “You’ve heart of the Sand Man. Meet his counterpart, the Sand Maiden.”

I know little to nothing about Shadowsong, and I am so happy about that. I’ve managed to avoid spoilers somehow. I read Wintersong, and honestly loved it, so I snatched an ecopy of the book back when it was on sale for $2.99. I love the mystical-ness of Jae-Jones’ writing, so I’m specially excited about reading Shadowsong. Though I’m trying my best to keep my hopes non-existent. I don’t want Shadowsong to be disappointing!

I have been waiting for the perfect moment to read The Heart Forger. I absolutely loved The Bone Witch. I know next to nothing about The Heart Forger, because I don’t want to read the synopsis and be able to predict what’s going to happen. I want to read The Heart Forger in a completely unbiased way. I’d like to be able to read The Heart Forger with a clean slate, if that makes sense. I have incredibly high hopes for The Heart Forger though, and I don’t know if that is going to be my ultimate downfall.

There are the books I want to read soon. Have you read any of these books before? Are there any books that you think I should read, based on these 6 books?

Happy Reading!
— Adele
