Hello! Today’s post will be my monthly wrap up for May. As you can see by the title, haha. I also ended up buying quite a few books, so check those out as well!
Knowing that I probably wouldn’t stick to it, I actually came up with a TBR this month!
My TBR for May included: The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas, Under the Empyrean Sky by Chuck Wendig, The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima, Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson, and finally, A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab.
I ended up reading way more books that I thought I would’ve this month, since May is typically one of the busiest months of the year for me. Yet I ended up reading 08 books, and 10 manga. Not bad if I do say so myself!
The books I read this may are:
- Saving Me by Sadie Allen — ★★★★’s
- Till Death by Jennifer L. Armentrout — ★★★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 03, by Aya Shouoto — ★★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 04, by Aya Shouoto — ★★’s
- Dawn of the Arcana Volume 02, by Rei Toma — ★★’s
- Konohan Kitan Volume 01, by Sakuya Amano — ★★★★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 05, by Aya Shouoto — ★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 06, by Aya Shouoto — ★★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 07, by Aya Shouoto — ★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 08, by Aya Shouoto — ★★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume 09, by Aya Shouoto — ★★’s
- He’s My Only Vampire Volume , by Aya Shouoto — ★★★’s
- Never Forgotten (Never Forgotten, #1) by Kelly Risser — ★★★’s
- Ace of Hearts (The Cursed Ravenc MS, #1) by Chantal Fernando — ★★★★★’s
- Endandgered (Daughter of Hades Book 1) by Dani Hoots (DNF) — ★★’s
- Black Dawn (Black Dawn #1) by Mallory McCartney — ★★’s
- Save the Date by Morgan Matson — ★★★.5’s
- GHOST: Lord of Carnage MC (Book 1) by Daphne Loveling — ★★★’s
I actually ended up marking four books as DNF this month. The first was Under the Empyrean Sky, and the second being Endangered. I also tried to get into reading The Demon King, but 3 pages in I just wasn’t feeling it so I decided to stop. …And then I tried reading a book I had received as an ARC a few years ago and ended up marking it as DNF.

First off, I am just going to point out that I did not mean to acquire so many books this month. It only worked out taht way because I went to the second hand store on two different accounts, and I blame the fact that I can buy 4 books and get one free. That’s 5 books for generally, $5 a book. *sigh* Such a steal.
I’m genuinely shocked at myself for buying 17 books this month. Yikes! I didn’t plan on buying them, like I said, since I have libraries and such that I can borrow books from and have my reading time that way. However, going to the second hand store is genuinely 50/50 for me. Sometimes I’ll see books I want and end up buying them, other times I find nothing that interests me at all.
I believe I had a great May, posting wise. I don’t usually make that many posts (aside from book reviews) in a month, so this May I’m quite happy with the 5 posts I posted. They are:
- April ’18 OwlCrate Unboxing | Shadows & Secrets
- Books I’m Going to Read | DRAGONS
- June Books I’m Looking Forward to
- Recent + Not-So Recent Favourite Books
- State of the ARC #4 | May ’18
I reviewed 11 books this May! It’s quite interesting to see what I think of the books in terms of star-ratings. This month my reviews turned out to be 50/50. There are some books that I loved, and some books….not so much! The books I reviewed are:
- Caraval (Caraval, #1) by Stephanie Garber
- Maybe Someday + Maybe Not, by Colleen Hoover
- Heart of Iron (Heart of Iron, #1) by Ashley Poston
- Chaser (Dive Bar, #3) by Kylie Scott
- Dragon Redeemer (World of Aluvia, #3) by Amy Bearce
- The Queen’s Rising (The Queen’s Rising, #1) by Rebecca Ross
- Saving Me by Sadie Allen
- Till Death by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Never Forgotten (Never Forgotten, #1) by Kelly Risser
- Ace of Hearts (The Cursed Ravens MC, #1) by Chantal Fernando
- (DNF) Endangered (Daughter of Hades Book 1) by Dani Hoots
I even reviewed some Manga!
- Dreamin’ Sun Volume 04, by Ichigo Takano
- Goldfisch Volume 02, by Nana Yaa
- The Water Dragon’s Bride Volume 02, by Rei Tōma
- Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku Volume 01 + 02, by Fujita

Did you buy any new books this month?
Did you end up marking any books as Did-Not-Finish, like I did?
Thanks again!

oh my gosh, I know right?? Gotta celebrate those wins somehow!
Netgalley spree’s will be the death of me to be honest. I can’t be on Netgalley for long amounts of time. The need to request all the books that I’m interested in is too much! Lol.
