STATE OF THE ARC MEME
State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.
Hello all! It’s that time of the month where I review and talk about my current State of the ARC! April has been an OK month for me, ARC reading wise. I read 4 books: 2 old, and 2 new. I also acquired 4 new books..so I feel like my…exchange rate(??) has remained the same.
Books Acquired:
Save the Date by Morgan Matson; I requested Save the Date and honestly did not expect to get a response. I was not only shocked but super excited that I had gotten a copy of Save the Date! I’ve loved Morgan Matson’s work in the past so I’ve been looking forward to reading Save the Date ever since I first saw the cover page about a month or so ago!
Goldfisch by Nana Yaa; Second Volume. I didn’t know that the second volume was going to be published soon, so I hopped onto that train mighty quick!
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku by Fujita; First volume also contains second volume. I ended up loving this one, and gush about how I love this manga in the review.
Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney; First book in what I’m guessing is a series. Black Dawn is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy, so I’m very interested in reading this. I’ve read the synopsis a few times now, and with each time I do, I become more and more intrigued. That being said, I’m keeping my expectations of Black Dawn incredibly low because I want to end up liking this book.
Books Read:
Goldfisch by Nana Yaa; I dare say that this second volume was darker than the first. — Though Goldfisch Volume 02 was published on the 24th of April, my review of this second volume will be posted on May 10th. (my review)
Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian; Stay Sweet is a story that I didn’t think that I would have enjoyed on a regular day. I remember when I requested it though, I was having a pretty good day, and wouldn’t mind the outcome of the novel and wouldn’t mind if I ended up liking Stay Sweet or not. (my review)
Winter Wolf by Rachel M. Raithby; Winter Wolf is a book that I’ve had for a while, but honestly… I’m so glad that I read Winter Wolf. I was really in the need for a shifter novel and Winter Wolf provided! (my review)
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku by Fujita; In my review, all I pretty much say is how much I loved the characters, and the banter between everyone. (my review)
Dragon Redeemer (World of Aluvia, #3) by Amy Bearce; Dragon Redeemer is a book taht I’ve actualyl had for a while, so I’m incredibly glad and relieved to have read DR this month! I’m very satisfied with the book, and the trilogy’s ending. (my review)
My feedback ratio started at 48% this month, and I feel like it could have been more had I not downloaded some of the book I got this month. I don’t regret it though! I’m closing April at 49%.
My goal for May will be to raise my feedback ratio to higher than 49%.
Have you read any ARC’s this month?
Thank you for stoping by!
Happy Reading!

[EDIT: On June 28, 2018 I added review links to the books I’ve read.)
