Hello hello! Today’s post, as you can see, is my OwlCrate Unboxing of February’s OwlCrate bookish box: Hidden Worlds!
The Hidden World box has some ups and downs for me. Since I haven’t read the accompanying book, I don’t exactly understand the references that each item may or may not have, pertaining to the book.
Nevertheless, here’s what I think of the Hidden Worlds OwlCrate box!
One thing that I’m always excited for in these monthly boxes are the candles. The candle in this months box is an exclusive from Books on Candles (by VIVLYO). The scent is described as pine, mint and vanilla. I find that the 3 scents don’t work well together, but I haven’t actually lit the candle yet. Of the most powerful of the three scents is the pine. Then we smell the mint, and finally the vanilla. .. I do not like the these three put together. The title of this candle is ‘Through the Wardrobe,’ as an ode to the Chronicles of Narnia, I believe.
Next there was a skeleton key pendant necklace in a OwlCrate sack that I almost threw out! The colour of the sachet blended in amazingly well with the object below it! The skeleton key necklace is cute, so I think I’m going to be using the necklace in future photo’s! The necklace was created by Team OwlCrate.
A Zipper pouch is the thing that caught my attention when I first opened the box, because it was underneath the pin, the candle, and the necklace. The zipper pouch is inspired by the book Daughter of Smoke and Bone and was illustrated by Risa Rodil. I’m actually a huge fan of this pouch. I have no idea when I’d use it though.. I will find a way to incorporate it into my life!!!
The thing that I love the most about this Hidden Worlds box, is the sticker that was designed by Naomi Lord! I actually love her work and admire it whenever I see it. I’ve never bought anything of hers before though, so I’m incredibly glad that the sticker was a part of February’s box!!! I also really like Alice in Wonderland, so, it’s perfect.
I’ve always wanted a wall tapestry but could never choose one (or afford one!) so I’m beyond the moon happy that the Hidden Worlds box included one by Evie Bookish! It’s honestly so freaking beautiful and is going to look great on my wall — the only available space in my room honestly! Hahah. Now I just have to figure out how to hang it up on the wall…
The book from Febraury’s Hidden Worlds is The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert! The cover is absolutely gorgeous. I love the silver and gold filigree. The stickers that came with the book are beautiful as well. I kind of want to get a few tattooed onto my body, haha! The letter from Melissa is heartfelt and is kind of giving me the push to write my own novel *sigh.*
Overall I’m actually pretty happy with OwlCrate’s Feb. ’18 Hidden Worlds box. I obviously didn’t expect what came included, and actively stay away from any spoilers on the internet. Aside from the candle and the zipper catching a few times, I love this box.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have you read The Hazel Wood?
Even though I haven’t yet, it is on my TBR and I’m looking forward to it!
Happy Reading!
