Chise Hatori’s life has recently undergone shocking change. As a sleigh beggy–a person capable of generating and wielding tremendous magical power–she has transformed from an unwanted child to a magician’s apprentice who has been introduced to fae royalty. Not gonna lie, I was pretty excited about visiting this world again. I genuinely enjoy reading and getting to look at the art that Kore Yamazaki produces in every volume!
What I liked about Volume 02 was that we’re able to see how clearly Chise feels things for other people. She may not be on par with a lot of human emotions and their ways, with how she was raised, but Chise is trying her best in everything that she does. That’s plain to see.
Another thing I liked was seeing the Faerie Queen!
This second volume was a pretty good continuation from the first volume! The art is great and I like that some things have more details than others—it shows what is more important in some aspects.
4 stars go to this second volume!
The Ancient Magus’ Bride Vol.03
Chise has come face to face with the person responsible for the brutal killings at a nearby churchyard–and to her shock, it’s someone she recognizes from her visions of the tragedy at Ulthar! Appalled by the realization that the alchemist who wrought such horrors is still up to his old tricks, Chise must act to stop him. But in order to control her dangerous powers as a sleigh beggy, she ll need all the help she can get.

So I didn’t know this in the first volume, but in volumes 2 & 3, on the inside of the cover page, there’s a little comic that is a feature towards Silky/Silver Lady. I genuinely adore those little comics. I honestly wish we saw more of her not only in the manga, but in the anime as well!
I actually liked seeing the darker side to Elias. I’m finding, lately, that I enjoy unveiling the darker side to characters way more than I should. Aside from Elias, I liked getting to know certain characters more.
It’s interesting to see how fast the chapters are. The volumes go by so quickly. Not only in reading, but the pace of the story is fairly quick as well.
While I didn’t laugh nor cry while reading this 3rd volume, I did enjoy it.
4 stars to volume 03!
Have you read –or watched– The Ancient Magus’ Bride?
Happy Reading!
