Life is almost back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors have been silent after their deadly attack at Cotillion months ago, and her best friend, Bee, has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can focus on the important things in life: school, canoodling with David (her nemesis-turned-ward-slash-boyfie), and even competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant.
Unfortunately, supernatural chores are never done. The Ephors have decided they’d rather train David than kill him. The catch: Harper has to come along for the ride, but she can’t stay David’s Paladin unless she undergoes an ancient trial that will either kill her . . . or make her more powerful than ever.
Well, what can I say? Miss Mayhem sure had a lot of Mayhem within the story. A lot happened in this sequel! It felt like everyone was going in opposite directions, but it was all still contained nicely together? Good job.
Anyway, a lot happened. People get together. People break up. People lost things, people gained things..
I didn’t much like the first book, Rebel Belle, but I must say though, this book feels more action-y. More emotional. And this book had waay more ultimatums.
Harper and the gang though.. They seem to have grown into their roles. And they did great with what they had, under their circumstances.
Im giving Miss Mayhem 3/5 stars. And I will be reading the next book, whenever it comes out. Im not really keeping my hopes up for the (HOPEFULLY) last book.
Happy Reading!
Adele
