Library Reads #28

libraryrreadsLibrary Reads: I’m a Library Lover, so these posts are where I document the books I’ve borrowed from either one library, of a few libraries. I’ll tell you a little bit about what I expect from the book, or the author’s writings. Whether what I say is a sentence long, or a few sentence’s. From doing these posts, I hope to spread a little of my love for libraries, while also informing you of books that you may or may not have known of!

One of my favourite things to do is borrow books from the library. I get to borrow a book, take it home, and read it. If I end up not liking, or I didn’t enjoy the book, then it’s not problem for me! I just return the book and move on with my life.

Here are the books that I’ve borrowed from the last half of May to end of June. Let me know if you’ve read, or want to read any of these books — Enjoy!

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

I’ve been looking forward to Wintersong for such a long time now. I’ve seen Wintersong everywhere on the internet: pinterest, tumblr, instagram…you name it. Now that I’ve borrowed it from the library, I finally have it! I’m so glad that when I went to the library it was there on the shelf.

The Body in the Woods, & Blood Will Tell by April Henry

I actually got Blood Will Tell on the same day as I did Wintersong. I didn’t realize that it was the second book, so I’ve requested The Body in the Woods from my local library so I could read The Body in the Woods; which is the first book, and then continue on with Blood Will Tell. This series is a Young Adult Mystery series, so I don’t even want to read the synopsis. I don’t want to spoil anything for myself! I’ve crossed out The Body in the Woods since I don’t actually have the

My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier

When I first heard of My Sister Rosa I know that there was a huge chance that I wouldn’t end up liking it. There’s just too much that’s left undecided in my opinion; and when some books are left…pretty much left for dead, I usually don’t like said books. However! I really want to give My Sister Rosa a try since people have said that this book is terrifying. I so badly want to be scared by a book again.

To Catch a Killer by Sheryl Scarborough

I’ve had my eye on To Catch a Killer for a while, since the premise of this book is so…mysterious. In my opinion, there’s so many questions and a lot of intrigue. I just want to find out what happens! I’m actually really looking forward to this book. I have no idea what to expect. I just hope that there’s a lot of suspense and thrill!

Premeditated by Josin L. McQuein

I’ve had Premeditated marked on my library account as “For Later” for a while now. SO long in fact, that I completely forgot about Premeditated. As for why Premeditated sounds interesting is that the book is pretty much a story of revenge, as far as I know. I don’t want to look too far into what Premeditated is about because I don’t want to spoil myself.

Nightfall by Jake Halpern and Peter Kujawinski

I’ve borrowed Nightfall before, and if my memory serves me right, I only got like 25 pages into the story? before I gave up because I just wasn’t in the mood for Nightfall. I’m hoping that I’ll want to try reading Nightfall sometime again soon. I don’t want to totally give up on the book since the synopsis is so interesting!

Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs

Silence Fallen is the tenth (10th) book in the Mercy Thompson series and I AM NERVOUS BECAUSE this might mean that the series is going to end soon and I am so not ready to say good-bye yet to one of my all time favourite characters and character stories. I mean, on Goodreads there’s an eleventh (11th) book listed but that could change at anytime. Which makes me nervous!!! If anything, I guess that I’ll be able to look back on these books fondly.

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour

I have wanted to read We Are Okay for a long, long time now, but just…. didn’t. Now that I have it out from the library, I am ready for this story! I love reading LGBTQIA+ themed novels!!

Deep (Stage Dive, #4) by Kylie Scott

I’ve been waiting for a long while to read Deep and now, I finally can! I’m honestly really excited for this last book since the character it’s about is the bass guitarist that no one really knows in the series. He’s more of a quiet one, I believe. So I’m really excited to read Deep!

Dirty by Kylie Scott

I’ve heard very little about Dirty, but, I am still looking forward to reading this new series, based in a bar!

Windwitch (The Witchlands, #2) by Susan Dennard

I honestly don’t know what to expect in Windwitch. I know that in the first book, Truthwitch, I ended up giving that book a 3 of 5 stars (on goodreads) but apart from that all I really remember about Truthwitch was that it was one hell of a whirlwind! And I’ve purposely not read the synopsis for Windwitch because then I can maybe enjoy this addition to the series.

The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

I am soooo freakin’ happy and excited that The Bone Witch is finally in my hands!!! I’m pretty sure though that I’ve got to read TBW asap so the next person can read it. I loved Chupeco’s The Girl from the Well, and if The Bone Witch is anything like The Girl in the Well, I will be one happy human.

Are you interested in any of these books? Have you read any of them, or are any on your TBR?

Happy Reading!
Adele
